Untill the ignition is on, all the 390s crank even if the emergency switch is off. But bike wont start.

Got some accessories for the bike over the weekend:

Fork and Swingarm sliders
Quick throttle with softer Pulsar 200NS grips.
Front Brake Reservoir cap
Rear Brake Reservoir cap
Oil cap that cant be opened by hand.

Not all 390s behave the same way, but some do. Mine never cranks with the emergency switch turned off, but my friend's bike does. Its may be due to some inconsistency in the wiring design at the manufacturers end.

Hey Guys, I am new to this forum and a proud owner of the KTM 390 Duke(December,2013)

Could you tell me how we could fix the scratches that appear on the tank of the D390? Any help would be appreciated...

Also , is there someplace in Delhi NCR, where we can install the 3M Paint Protection Film on the Tank and how much will be the estimated cost?

Mine is an Oct 2013 model and mine does crank (either in neutral or in gear with clutch pulled in). Only the engine never starts up.

My earlier R15 did not crank until the switch was in run position and all Pulsars behave in the same way as the Duke.

Mine doesnt crank the first time. Ie , when I have turned on the key with the kill switch in off position. But if turn om the kill switch and turn it off. Then try to crank , it will crank but engine wont start. It will just keep on cranking....

Its a modded Pulsar 200ns throttle with a bigger cam like a quick throttle. It reduces the stock accelerator travel by arnd 20%. Makes the bike very snappy in the city and on the highways. The grips themselves are also soft and comfortable. Its made by Dhaval Mahidaria from Mumbai.

You can find a video of it on youtube. Cant post the vid now as at work. Look for Quick Action Throttle for KTM Duke 390 on youtube by Dhaval.

Your best bet would be to use graphics on scratched parts. If the scratches are not that prominent may be a 3M coating would do fine. I got my coating done from Kirti Nagar svc. It cost my around 650 for two coatings in a year.

could post the individual cost for the mods please.also the quick throttle mod we can do for ourselves?I had seen the video earlier. means parts available at bajaj spare.

Only the standard 200ns throttle and grips can be brought from Bajaj. The mod can be done by yourself i guess if you have the right tools for the job. The larger cam designed by Dhaval is very precisely machined and a perfect fit for the 200 ns throttle tube. This is important as you cant have the cam moving about or the accelerator cable slipping out of place while riding.

@ the Pain - Whoaaaa, Awesome accessories mate.

I did a highway ride last weekend to Mumbai and back, you can say a midnite run as well. I wanted to know if there are any options to upgrade the headlamp into a projector or something, may be a 55w or 60w projector.

Thanks bud. Not too sure abt the projector HL. I've seen some 200s with them. No idea how much it costs though. Haven't seen one on a 390 yet.

Will ask around and post here if I find anything
