On my 2nd servicing in vizag, the svc guy did remove the tank as he has not able to fit the spark plug and fuel filter cleanly. after the tank was removed its was just a 10 min work.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostAnupam

Also, the spark plug cable is weird. The soft flexible part of the cable is from the ignition coil to the cylinder head top. From there till the bottom of the spark plug down the cylinder hole, there is a hard part that looks like a thick rod. This part is very difficult to remove from the spark plug hole as the top part of the rod hits the underside of the tank while attempting removal!Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

KTM is replacing the front sprocket as it risks the chain coming off

You should beware of rules and follow them if not for yourself, then for others safety. We don't care whether you live or die, but we care for ourselves.

I have seen so many 390 riders in pune riding like they have become insane ! Breaking traffic rules , jeopardizing overtakes , with basically zero safety gears! These idiots don't care about others , most of them are so young I doubt they are even of age to ride a non-gear motorcycle.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Can any D390 owner give the review of the stock tyres??
How long does this tyres last??
Some where i feel if D390 would had come with little more broader tyres then current, then i din't had to be metz* , good MRF soft compound would had work with being good and reasonable.
Just a thought!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
For rear tyre, expect a life of around 12K kms. Anything above that is on borrowed time. I have done around 9K kms and believe that the rear one can easily hold on for another 2K.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostCan any D390 owner give the review of the stock tyres??

The front does seem to last longer, hence would expect its life to be around 15K.Last edited by AmitRavi07; 06-04-2014, 07:41 PM.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Interesting read, not sure if it was posted earlier here on xbhp:
Bajaj Exporting WP Suspension For KTM Duke 690 From India | MotorBeam – Indian Car Bike News & Reviews
And looking at the suspension there is the 'WP' and 'Endurance' stamped on the forks. Looks like endurance https://www.endurancegroup.com/produ...absorbers.html makes them here in India for ktm.
btw, have anyone here been able to get any real updates/reasons on the rims cracking/breaking issues on the d390 ? Are they replacing the rims under insurance or warranty?

Not sure about the rims, but i did manage to get a replacement for my front right fork. This was done with a bit of insistence and exchanging mails with KTM and bajaj along with pictures. the same fork had leaked twice in 6k kms, so i was bent on getting a replacement rather then just a seal change. otherwise a single fork costs about 4.5kbtw, have anyone here been able to get any real updates/reasons on the rims cracking/breaking issues on the d390 ? Guys, need your expertise in diagnosis of an issue.
My 390's right side foot peg vibrates much more then the left side. Ideally, the left foot peg, being close to front sprocket/chain should vibrate more, if atall. Why is it the other way round in my case. Also, its just not plain vibration on the right one, but i can feel certain specific and distinct vibration within the general vibration. Its like a feeling of something being lightly grinded somewhere, the those vibes are transferred to and felt at the right foot peg. This is much more noticible at slower speeds, and feels in sync with every rotation of the wheel. Not sure if i am able to properly communicate the issue here. i have physically checked for any thing visibly out of order, but could find nothing unusual. Any pointers?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have experienced similar vibrations on my bike when my chain was excessively tight. These vibes show up even more when it lacks proper lubrication. I check and adjust the slack myself and usually keeps the slack a bit less than the minimum level as the 390's chain tends to buildup slack so quickly and this somehow reduces frequent chain adjustments. I suggest you to remove the front sprocket cover, clean the entire sprocket, adjust, clean and lube the chain. This may solve the issue.Originally posted by nasirkaka View PostMy 390's right side foot peg vibrates much more then the left side.
