    Quietly I assume.

I hope this will sort out chain slapping issue since the mechanic at SNK referred to it.
Let's hope so, time for another trip to the svc i guess.

And the radiator of 390 is bigger than 200, I checked it personally. It protrudes out more than 200. And yes, good relations with SVC goes a long way.

In any case, if any one is looking for Engine Ice in Blore, X-torque has it in stock for 1300/-. They will do the installation as well.
Hehe..! Never meant it in that way mate.! I for one do feel that it is needed, because the most of the time the bike is being run it is in those wretched ITPL stagnant traffic at peak hours.

And X-Torque takes care of changing it also ? That's interesting, need to look into it. If possible will swap it for the Honda too.

At-least using a better quality coolant should be done. As far as warranty goes, it all boil downs to how well you know the svc guys, if you know them well, they are ready to pull a blind eye over it, if not they start picking on the minutest of details to void it.
And indeed, it is the stupid stagnant city traffic that causes most of the problems, highway riding always keeps the temperature at bay. Now if only it was completely built for highway rides.. :-P

Yes Krish, indeed I really wanted to try the Engine Ice, though the Inugel is meant for cars, and the Motocool is meant for the motorcycles, I'd love to get the Engine Ice stuff and flush it myself during the second service. And you're absolutely bang on Krish, a good rapport with the svc folks really does go a long way.

When I was talking recently with a service head here, the guy indeed had some points to offer about chain, first being the color, many Dukers complained about the black color of the chain which really does look odd on the bike of such caliber, so the newer lots are coming with silverish chain, call it a premium look and have seen it already in the newer lots of Dukes (in the showroom), and hopefully mine too will have the silver/anodized chain I guess hopefully. Got a call from the guys at SVC that the bike has landed in the showroom, will have to go see it personally tomorrow, only drawback being 100 KMS one way just to go see the lady and come back, so 200 KMS just to see my new baby!

So ultimately it might be due to the silver finish chain replacement or the slack noise. But who really cares, as long as they are doing the job right and replacing the parts for free, the chaps at Bajaj are doing a good job, and that's what we'd love to see from them.

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        Hello guys,

I have been facing a problem of squeaking noise from front break. I got break pads cleaned during svc, the noise started 2 days after that and now again got them cleaned yesterday, again slight noise is coming when I push the bike which is irritating.

        Any other solution for it?

Is the chain changed only for color? Or is it a better material to reduce stretch and slack? Can you find out?

Wash with water jet. But it will come back soon due to our dusty environmental conditions.

Weird thing happend to me this morning, while going to office in jam I tried taking left but handle was moving only a bit to left, I thought there is some boulder beside tyre but there was none. Since I was in traffic I drove like that to my offfice and in office I ofund that one of the bolt has gone loose and it fell and got stuck between frame and point which restrict handle movement hence it further reduced the handle movement.

Guys be careful....looks like because of heavy vibration nuts are getting loose ( even the nut holding handle lock has gone loose ).

                    Hi,

Mine is a April 2014 Black Duke 390 and so far I have heard a lot of complaints with the chain slack and the chain noise. To be frank, I too expected to have problems with the chain but so far I have never encountered problems with the chain even when I usually forget to oil them every 500kms (touchwood) . I do oil them when I feel they have gone dry.
So I guess possibly, there was a change in chain as you suggested.

                    Cheers,
                    Dev

The lever shown here is more to do with adjusting the distance between your palm and the fingers.

The Z-ring chain should be good as the contact points is 4 instead of 2 so more power transfer to the wheel I guess (Correct me if I am wrong).
And the maintenance is less meaning you can forget once in a while to Oil and it should forgive you.
Moreover the Orange color looks cool....

The only thing that wouldbe bothering while getting these powerparts would be it's pricing I guess. But hey, If you can afford to get one, then What The Hell?!

my bike is also of 2014. so far have covered 7600 km. but the stiffness is there. the svc guy say it will be there till the bike run cos of high compression and torque [as he said]. last month i had gone to bangalore. and have ride the bike in rush hour almost for one week. what i got is, my left thumb is still numb and paining. and iws not able to close my left palm and make a tight fist. hence i want to change it, even if the distance between palm and finger become less i guess it will provide some comfort.

no idea what you wrote about the chain my bad. i guess i have to search google a bit dont know the chain price yet

Maybe, I am not sure. KTM has fixed lots of issues which were present in initial lot. Starting issues, stalling issues are an old wives tale now

Btw I opened front sprocket cover to clean it properly (I was hearing a tak-tak sound) and found that the sprocket holder is slowly rusting!

                                See in the pic below,

I heard that when different metals are in contact, due to moisture rusting can happen. Maybe this is what they are trying to fix by replacing with new front sprocket.
