AFAIK RPM 1 and 2 are for setting the shift warning lights.Originally posted by The Pain View PostCant RPM 1 and RPM 2 be set by the user itself. the instructions are in the user manual. I havent tried it out yet cos i just got my bike yesterday.
Rev Limiter can't be set by the user without flashing the ECU.

One more observation - the noise comes only when the bike is hot. Pushing when cold has no noise. I am guessing it is from the cat con - but why when only pushing forward? It is quite loud.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostI am facing a new issue for past 2-3 days. When I push the bike forward (in my parking lot), there is a tak tak tak sound coming from somewhere near the bottom engine area. It is not present when pushing back.
I suppose it is also present when riding but can be heard due to the sound of the engine.
Any ideas?

I meant the ecu remap to the newer version and not setting of the rpm shift light.Originally posted by The Pain View PostCant RPM 1 and RPM 2 be set by the user itself. the instructions are in the user manual. Usually such tak tak sounds are caused by the front sprocket when the chain is too tight and it can happen that the sound is not produced when bike is going back (Had experienced this in my RTR). But it should happen even when its cold.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostOne more observation - the noise comes only when the bike is hot. Pushing when cold has no noise. Probabaly because of Chain!Get it cleaned thoroughly and lube it.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostI am facing a new issue for past 2-3 days. It is usually done by Service engineer who require suitable laptop/computer with an internet connect who login to the KTM server to access the latest ECU upgrades if any.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostIs KTM willing to do it?2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Guys..i just noticed when i switch on the ignition, all the lights pop up which is normal i guess. But the 2nd light from left still blinks until i start the engine. Manuel says that light indicates engine critical error. Again, when i start the engine the light goes off. Is this for everyone??

That is how it is supposed to be.
If the light still stays on when the bike is running , then you have a problem there.
Cheers

That's normal. If it stays on until later, should you worry.Originally posted by THE46FAN View PostGuys..i just noticed when i switch on the ignition, all the lights pop up which is normal i guess. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thx guys...had been to Goa last weekend and when i stopped in Margaon for a break i noticed the light when i was abt to start the bike. I thought all the lights blink for once and go off. Only the ABS light goes off while the bike moves. So got a bit tensed. By the way, went with wife, used Rynox tank bag and a back pack. On the way back my dear wife used the train.
She just couldnt manage. Even for me arms start paining while touring with a pillion. The Duke and my wife are at war...Somehow walkin the thin line..

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
during 2nd service i had told them about, big noise coming from under side sometimes, which could not be reproduced.
they said, nothing found, but when bike was given back, mechanic told some tar and stone pieces were found from radiator fan side, and a fan fin was slightly bend. damn...
but after i reached home,
called SM. he told to check again. it has occurred again. damn...I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

Check if the radiator fan is working. It happened with my Duke too. The ASC guys have the tools to check if it's working so no need to revv the bike to check for yourself. I Got the entire radiator fan assembly replaced under warranty.Originally posted by Legend Racer View Post..called SM. he told to check again. it has occurred again. damn...The way you ride is the way you are..
