Either that BP bunk has cheated you or you failed to notice it. Not saying it is worth that extra money but the difference was like day and night in my bike Esp when my bike was new and there was lot of roughness in low rpms.
Probably my bike was smooth enough already. It is highly depended on how you run in the motorcycle.
While paying more than Rs 100 for a liter of petrol, I made sure that I am not been cheated .

So the Mumbai prices have finally dropped on the Duke 390. Ranging between 205500/- to 207000/- approx across different dealers from the earlier price of 214000 approx

Just back from booking my White 390 today! Cant wait for the bike to be delivered!!
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

completed first service after engine replacement. man, does the bike feel smooth.very smooth compared to earlier.for me engine oil change did good.it has also got much quieter
side effect of smoothness.
in general the suspension is just horrible at soaking bumps and opposite with potholes. old city roads (non rubberised) are best avoided due to the bike picking up the bumpy surface.

I paid, 2300/- at the KTM SVC, Seawoods.

I got it filled for Rs 950 for both wheels...[without discount it was around 1050]

nice to know.... check your tyre pressure and suspension setup... for most here, suspension is a dream setup...

no issue on smooth highway/main city roads.I'm talking about other roads.tarred yes but not smoothened out.

btw rev limiter kicks in at 9.5k on our bikes??I remember reading some other owners saying this as well.

5k kms done, the bike has sprung a leak on the right side head gasket. Mostly because of the riding in the stop go Bangalore traffic.
And it is kinda sad watching the tyres wearing out squarely, lack of twisties is really killing it.!

Cheers

This is a common problem with almost all bajaj bikes. I had a nightmare with this problem on my 135LS. I replaced it 3 times till it finally stopped. The last time they used the gasket + sealent.

I hope its not the silicon based sealant, I do not think you are supposed to use those for the engine head. Removing the head in future for any works will be a pain in the arse..!

MIne started leaking around 2k Kms. After that, enigne head was removed and sealants replaced only to notice it recurring. After unsuccessfully replacing the head gasket and sealants thrice at Indiranagar SVC, took it to Kasturba Nagar SVC. They replaced all the gaskets related to head at the same time and now, issue is resolved for good.

As for the tyres, I believe Dunlop sportmax qualifier is available in 110/70-17 as well as 150/60-17. Try checking them out. They may last a tad longer than the grippier metzelers.

always running at 31psi rear and suspension at 4th step.im lucky to do daily commute on NH 744... ghats and ghats..although i cant rev high nor reach top speeds, hardly 90 km/hr.my tyre wear is even.
when compared to junaid12345678 my tyre has worn out less at 6k.i had been trying to scrape knees and this is what happened today.
first the gear lever end touched road and then ,a bit of my shoe side also touched road. was lucky enough to counter steer and balance the wobble of front wheel at that angle.
why i could not scrape knees even though i tilted the bike to its maximum possible?

knee scrapers please give some knowledge... is it that the curve chosen is made bad or isnt perfect for knee scraping? or is it my approach to the curve? is it the body posture on this bike, i mean wide handles vs clip on, stuff?

but the curve seems fine to my eyes...what went wrong?

..reached 6k. going for 3rd service tomorrow. whats approx. charge? got to fix some missing screw, nuts, adjust headlights, etc...not gonna let them wash it though...
if there is an affordable and good alternate tyre for 390 i will surely buy those. cant think of buying 20 k tyres. i may cry out with that bill...guys please update here , if anyone uses other tyres...
