The bike has been excellent and I feel it gets smoother & smoother as it gets older :-)

Nice.. I've completed two services and due for third service.. after first service they used 300v and after second service they used 7100.. from 300v changing to 7100, I could notice the differences too much.. the bike feels rough, revving is not smooth, gear shifts are clunky.. When on 300v it was very refined.. Planning to go back to 300v now..Originally posted by Abhiman View PostI have completed all the 3 free services. Yes it can fall off that easily..it happened the very first day they installed it on my bike..was lucky not to loose it since it was hanging by one screw...went back gave them a small piece of mind..and told them to tighten it properly..post some 2500 kms later it is still there..Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View PostIn today's inspection saw that the front-fender extension is no-more there
.
Can it fall-off that easily
or did somebody flick it

Hmmm... That explains it - Since that part was an afterthought to protect the radiator it was expected, good that you clarified.Originally posted by Ponnanna1 View PostYes it can fall off that easily..it happened the very first day they installed it on my bike..was lucky not to loose it since it was hanging by one screw...went back gave them a small piece of mind..and told them to tighten it properly..post some 2500 kms later it is still there..
BTW I inquired in BTM SVC, Bangalore and the same is not available there- told to go to Khiviraj,Indiranagar.

Guru's Please help...
Something is wrong with my engine and it seems crankshaft is the issue. SVC saying crankshaft is changed. Should I accept or should I push for replacement of engine?
Personally I believe changing engine parts is not good for the bike.

Not even Khiviraj or Popular have the same . Everyone is asking to wait for a week.Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View PostBTW I inquired in BTM SVC, Bangalore and the same is not available there- told to go to Khiviraj,Indiranagar.
Generally speaking - just asking, How is the availability of other KTM parts ?
Care to elaborate a bit more - I am not a guru but asking so that others can help . What happened and how was it concluded that the crankshaft is at fault ?Originally posted by peaesus View PostGuru's Please help...

nasirkaka - Using tyre protector would be best bet I guess... I have put tyre protector in my 390 and have seen it working during last two puctures in my rear tyre. All you have to do is just pull the nail out and tyre protector fluid will seal the hole from inside.Originally posted by nasirkaka View Postlast night, saw a nail embedded in the rear tyre. Had read it somewhere on the forum not to pull it out, untill i am at a puncture shop. Luckily, the air did not escape.
Went to a puncture shop this morning to get the thing fixed. My first ever puncture experience on a tubeless tyre. The guy, pulled the nail, and brutally inserted a sharp screwdriver type thing to make the hole bigger. my heart was in my mouth looking at metz being subjected to such a torture. After making the hole bigger, he simply inserted some flexible and sticky tube kind of material, and cut some portion of it which was projecting out.
Is this how a tubeless puncture is repaired? He charged me 75rs which i think is too much for that small job. No wheel removal from the bike, No tyre removal from the rim. Simply make the hole bigger, and plug it from outside. Next time onwards, i can do this myself, if this is how a tubeless puncture is fixed.
Another update: this morning, suddenly one of the roots windtone horn stopped working. Stopped to inspect and saw the LHS horn hanging from the electrical wire. The metal calmp had broken at the bend cos of vibrations! So much for quality of clamp.. will have to get one fabricated now..

Thankyou. i shall check the product at x torque. Are there any side effects of using a tyre protector? ALso, is there any protocol to get added to the kriegers?@nasirkaka - Using tyre protector would be best bet I guess... Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
hey has anyone checked the fuel economy using 97 octane petrol? Have you found any considerable difference in using normal petrol vs 97 octane petrol which supposedly costs around 9-10 rs higher ?

Well, in blore it costs 24 Rs higherOriginally posted by rick_7428 View Posthey has anyone checked the fuel economy using 97 octane petrol? Have you found any considerable difference in using normal petrol vs 97 octane petrol which supposedly costs around 9-10 rs higher ?
And I think mileage increases by 2-3kmpl but the ride experience esp low end becomes much smoother and bike is much more responsive. It is kind of expected because ECU somehow manages with normal fuel when the compression ratio is 12.8:1, (this number is similar to what most superbikes have).

Not worth the extra money.
Except little smoothness that you assume has increased

Are you serious??Originally posted by riazmomin View PostExcept little smoothness that you assume has increased

Either that BP bunk has cheated you or you failed to notice it. Not saying it is worth that extra money but the difference was like day and night in my bike
Esp when my bike was new and there was lot of roughness in low rpms.
