Ask for a new bike bro. Don't give up. Can't really say what other things those guys might have messed up in that bike. Really feel sorry for you. Hope you get it sorted out at the earliest...

During the first service the mechanic put around 1.5 lts of oil into the engine with a new oil filter. There are no leaks from anywhere around the bike only lil bit of dust affinity around the oil input area and oil filter cap area.
we have a scheduled trip to goa from bangalore this month end with total running of 1500 kms. should i top up some oil before heading out for this trip ?
Tourers please provide some inputs for long distance rides on the duke.
        kms completed : 2100 approx
Dont worry about the Bike, it is fine.
Let the engine warmup for good 2-3 minutes. Let the oil settle down in the sump. After 3-4 minutes, set the bike straight and you can see the oil level clearly.

No need for top up oil atleast for now.
If you are above 5'10", you might feel cramps in thighs after sometime. Just keep the butts moving around and legs can be rested on crash gaurd while cruising to feel relaxed. Rest all, bike is bliss on Highways if speeds below 120kmph.

Atleast they must have gone with KTM's Power Parts sticker kit. The 390 stickers are very good.
        The Black theme looks nice

On contrary, your dealer has taken you on a long drive. I hope you can get nice compensations later :P

Hey guys, KTM sales guy and Dewan auto supported me on this case and the issue was totally accepted and has been taken care of within barely 40 minutes. The showroom guy was asked the reason and he admitted the scenario and It was really amazing to see how much high priority this was taken as. Hoping to see the same behaviour in future in terms of maintenance and repair stuffs. Will be posting pics soon. It's a white KTM 390, and guess what, it looks amazing as white as well.

A new KTM showrrom opened in my home town Kasaragod, went there to tighten the chain and lube...mann..he's sprayed so much lube it's all dripping and stuck all over. Then he was kind enough to take the bike out of the svc for me and he gives full throttle and starts the bike, it wouldnt, i tell him not to use throttle and still he does the same. Gives me creeps to give the bike to these guys.

Btw, Here it is what happened, the guy replaced panels and fairings from a 200, as people prefer a black one, and then always tell the customers beforehand about this, which in my case didnt happen. But for extra 7K bucks, I dont think its a bad combo, even though just the stickering is off by a bit, the 390 still looks a beast, so its just a matter of preference. I reverted back to stock white as I didnt like the fact that I wasnt being told about this, but hey, I love white combo as well, and parents preferred it more. So I'm a happy customer right now.

Guys, if 7k bucks aint of much matter to you, Do see the black options provided this way.

So here is my experience with bike.

Takes a while to get along, I used to own a R15 due to which it will take a bit to adjust seating posture. It flies over potholes(minor) easily, the clutch is way too stiff, but then I guess they must have done this for some reason. The bike has an awesome power, but heats up quickly. Ah, and it is not for people less than 5 feet 5 inches, I am 5 feet 5.5 inches(yeah, .5 inches..mind it) and kind of have to tip toe when bike is totally stand still vertically. Also, its easily to get the engine shut off, way too easily and happens a lot till you get along with the bike, and starting it is kind of a different story.

What I liked and My conclusion ===> The power is just amazing, handles really awesomely, Gives you amazing confidence while swerving here and there. The grip of tires is really extraordinary, and even though they cost a lot, They do perform accordingly and deserve this price tag. I have never felt as amazing as on this bike. There are some tidbits off, but it can be lived with considering the package that is provided altogether.

Faced the first real problem with the bike after 5K kms and 3 Months. It happenned as I shifted down one and gave throttle, it just died on me as if there was no petrol, it stuttered and turned off and the engine light lit up. Thankfully I hit the clutch a the right time and pulled to the side. Switched off and back on, and everything was fine.

My concern is that if this happens again and the wheel locks up when I'm already at a decent speed, it can be catastrophic and cause an accident. Suddenly my trust level has dipped a bit till I find what caused it.

Anyone knows what are the blink codes for this bike, my bike sometime shows blink code '2 long flashes & four short flashes', it first showed when i was in svc for first service, mechanic told me that it because of washing of bike, some water may entered in sensors after some time it goes off, now after about 200 kms it showing again but not constant it goes off in little time too, please help.

Relax and follow the below steps

warm up the engine by idling for a few mins or riding
turn off the engine and wait for a minute
chk the oil level with the bike being straight
if level is less than the min marker, add 50 ml of oil
chk the level and add more if necessary,
preferable to have the level a little bit above the min marker...

Enjoy the rides and keep a check on all fluids regularly...

Congrats for the bike.... but that bike was originally white and orange...
This is a KTM lajpatnagar job..
This is a very serious issue...
Please bring this to the notice of KTM and bajaj

Those are 200 stickers with 390 cutouts..

                        Congrats and enjoy the madness
Yes warmed it up and checked the level, not convinced added about 100 ml of oil , then after re-warming the engine was able to see the level just at minimum level.
Will monitor for a few days.

Guys heard from a friend who had been to the KTM showroom recently that a decision is underway to slash the price of metzelers to 12-14K ( for a pair - bangalore) from the current rate as they are worried that people will switch to other brands due to high price of metzs. Is this true ? does anybody have any news about this ?

Does it happen when fuel is low?? or Just before hitting 'Low Fuel' indicator?

My 390 usually shuts off when the fuel is on lower side when I had to brake hard. It appears that the Fuel move to the front of the tank, and fuel pump is not surrounded by petrol, then as a precautionary measure, the bike shuts off. It it is this way, then it is good way to help avoiding frying the fuel pump.

No Riaz, it was well above half. I think all the normal fuel I used when I went to Kerala might have maybe caused a problem. I will observe for some more time. I will be doing my service in a few days time. I have come back to Speed97 from the last 2 weeks.

and just when I thought that all issues were over with, read the manual, turned out that ABS light on means something wrong with ABS :/ and I thought that its because ABS is in action. Well, we have a problem here, ABS not working... tried a burnout, and tyre spins with front tyre locked... SUCKS! will be reporting it tomorrow..
