Just a quick question guys, Does the D390 and D200 share the same oil filter? I know they have the same Air Filter.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Glad you got is changed. Last 2 weeks ago when I met Saambi, he told me he has a Black 390, when I saw it I told him he will be in trouble if buyer finds out the body parts are switched... LOL.Originally posted by avin45h View PostBtw, Here it is what happened, the guy replaced panels and fairings from a 200, as people prefer a black one, and then always tell the customers beforehand about this, which in my case didnt happen. But for extra 7K bucks, I dont think its a bad combo, even though just the stickering is off by a bit, the 390 still looks a beast, so its just a matter of preference. I reverted back to stock white as I didnt like the fact that I wasnt being told about this, but hey, I love white combo as well, and parents preferred it more.
So I'm a happy customer right now.
Guys, if 7k bucks aint of much matter to you, Do see the black options provided this way.

So here is my experience with bike.
Takes a while to get along, I used to own a R15 due to which it will take a bit to adjust seating posture. It flies over potholes(minor) easily, the clutch is way too stiff, but then I guess they must have done this for some reason. The bike has an awesome power, but heats up quickly. Ah, and it is not for people less than 5 feet 5 inches, I am 5 feet 5.5 inches(yeah, .5 inches..mind it) and kind of have to tip toe when bike is totally stand still vertically. Also, its easily to get the engine shut off, way too easily and happens a lot till you get along with the bike, and starting it is kind of a different story.
What I liked and My conclusion ===> The power is just amazing, handles really awesomely, Gives you amazing confidence while swerving here and there. The grip of tires is really extraordinary, and even though they cost a lot, They do perform accordingly and deserve this price tag. I have never felt as amazing as on this bike. There are some tidbits off, but it can be lived with considering the package that is provided altogether.
Congoz bro. We are of similar height, I am 1.5 inches short
. You are gonna fall in love with this beast. Just watch out for those wheelies

And finally he did get into trouble, even I had word with the dealership owner, and he said that they always tell customer about this. Seems like problem is at Saambi's side :P. He didnt anticipate that I will escalate it to sales manager. Anyways, the news is one other guy has bought a black KTM , as per them the customer was notified of this. Let's see if he posts here.Originally posted by riot View PostGlad you got is changed. Friendly suggestion to you - Avoid getting your bike serviced at Deewan (okhla). Really pathetic servicing and attitude problem with Mr. XYZ over there (wont take names).
Try Suman Bajaj (Noida), i got my bike serviced there and they do a fantastic job.
Enjoy your new ride.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Sure, will pay a visit there. Can you quote some instances from Dewan (okhla) ? The reason being that I saw their workshop and it's huge!! and there are parts easily available over there, even the owner there assured me of all parts and service to be the best. But then, all that glitters is not gold, would like to know if there were any specific instances.Originally posted by A@shIsh View PostHi avin45h

There have been many instances, some of them are as follows -
1. They do not perform basic things mentioned in the service booklet Like setting CO, setting tappets. You have to stand with the mech and remind them to do their task as per the manual. (and its hard to explain them that it is necessary to do it)
2. The mechs are not trained enough to assemble the bike properly after they open it. In my bike the breather pipe was bent while assembling the tank and as a result the bike was suffocating and did not perform as it should. I reported to them and they said its carb tuning problem
. I took the bike to Suman bajaj and after taking a test ride they informed me that there is issue with carb. When the tank was opened i was shown the crappy work Deewan had done The breather pipe was badly bent which was suffocating the bike and also the carb had a little dirt. Problem was solved quickly without any hassles.
3. Once Mr. XYZ refused to check my bike because it was 5:30 in the evening and he was more interested in PDI of a new discover. Didn't even bother to listen to my problem. Excuse - Sir NS is a very complicated bike it will take time to check come later (without even checking the prob)
4. At Suman all the mechs have been given a check list of tasks to be performed during service which has to be followed! You don't need to tell the mechs to do basic stuff its all taken care off. After the mech is done with your bike your bike will be taken for CO setting then a person will check your Job card and test ride the bike for probelems before handing it over to you.
At Deewan- well they just change oil do a few things and hand over the bike to you! easy
PS: I dont have Duke i own NS
I hope this helpssigpic

Sounds like a better thing is to prefer suman bajaj, I will get my bike serviced at Suman Bajaj and see the experience myself, till now the experience with any of service centres (Yamaha, TVS and Bajaj) has been same as you mentioned in points 1,2,3. Would really love it if they actually do the work like that and IF they service KTMs tooOriginally posted by A@shIsh View PostThere have been many instances, some of them are as follows -

One more interesting thing, The exhaust in my bike started to make rattling sound when Cold and it use to disappear when it became Hot.Originally posted by A@shIsh View PostThere have been many instances, some of them are as follows -

Deewan Bajaj - I had to visit Deewan numerous times and they could not solve the problem. They claimed that the exhaust was touching the engine somewhere and they use to adjust it which was only good for 5-6kms. I got frustrated and went to Suman for the first time.
At Suman - they heard the sound and diagnosed within 15mins that the metal gasket at the muffler joint has gone kaput. Gasket was replaced and voila no sound!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I wonder how no one is complaining about the bad brakes on the 390. The initial bite has just vanished. The front free play is so much that it feels like a drum brake that needs to be tightened.
I really am pissed with the front brakes. Not just my bike, every 390 I have ridden has the same issue. Its not like brakes are weak but you have to grab the lever with all your might to get it working.
Disc brakes should not be like this till the time there is low brake fluid, but even that is not the case here. What happened to two finger braking, that is the way I love it. The duke 200 has far better brakes, how?
The stupid svc people have only reply. Saar! Abs saar, like this only saar. I feel like breaking their heads. Dafuq!

Was there too much of wear on brake pads or the disc?Originally posted by DukeDey View PostI wonder how no one is complaining about the bad brakes on the 390. The initial bite has just vanished. The front free play is so much that it feels like a drum brake that needs to be tightened.

I have ridden around 2500 kms but am not facing this issue. How many kms had you completed when you started facing this problem?Originally posted by DukeDey View PostI wonder how no one is complaining about the bad brakes on the 390. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I think I have complained the most about bad brakes! But the difference being, what you are describing now, is EXACTLY how my bike felt for the first few hundred kms. The braking improved with usage.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostI wonder how no one is complaining about the bad brakes on the 390. The initial bite has just vanished. It is worth to find out what the issue is. It is frustrating to have a powerful bike with poor braking performance. Hope you can get it fixed. All the best and keep us posted.

Had my set of problems at Suman. They broke the axle nut on my friend's D200, did not clean bike properly, took 2 days to fix side stand sensor and forgot to reset service Indicator.
So far, the best is Kirti Nagar service center. The reps are well trained, the KTM supervisor is very vigilant in fixing even the tiniest issues.
Other than locomotive like braking noise My 390 has 2 finger brakes with good bite. Escalate it to Bajaj bro.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostI wonder how no one is complaining about the bad brakes on the 390. The initial bite has just vanished.
