Guys. Planning to go for a suitable aftermarket visor for my 390. Please provide your suggestions / experience using one from other bikes.

Need to be able to cruse at least at 150 kmph without feeling the wind blast, Looks should be decent and not awkward.

D200 thread had descriptions of CBR windscreens being fitted for windblast issues. Cant the same be tried for D390? I am under the impression that the front section should be similar and the same experiment should work for D390 too?

Thanks for the info. So this Y shaped connector goes in somewhere in the headlight dome?

if you are not used to the "neck snapping" acceleration of the D390, this can be the result. Faced the same right inside the city when I was new to the bike! Ofcourse wind blasts will exaggerate the issue.

You have to try it out and see for yourself because one of my friend removed the CBR visor on 390 because of too much strain on neck. Guess the effectiveness of these jugaad visors depends on rider height a lot since we cant adjust the angle.

Even I was never in market for upgrade but one visit to Triumph showroom changed everything and I ended up with a 390!! (Dont ask how )

Agree on the maintenance part, one will never realize how fast money will fly out of the pocket

Yes, it replaces the existing connector. The new Dukes must be coming with this redesigned connector as standard, I guess.

I am not sure any jugaad or an aftermarket windscreen will help you cruise at 150 for long stretches. You will definitely have to crouch somewhat and its not going to be comfortable. Looks on Duke from my experience will vary from person to person. I personally like the look of stock visor and hate how the bike looks with cbr/fz visors (no offence meant to anyone).

On another note, yesterday experienced the High Coolant Temperature warning for the first time. I was caught up in a huge traffic jam for over an hour and was feeling how a chicken would feel when placed in a broiler. The first temperature bar on the high temp section was lit, but, this would go down when I moved. With temperatures set to go up a few more degrees here, I hope that it doesn't affect the bike adversely.

                        Thanks Anit for the suggestions.

Reg high coolant temperature, Haven't seen it yet. Till now in city I saw 9 bars and drops to 8 bars and I get moving. From what I understand 10-11 bars is normal in city. But if the high temperature warning goes off it should not be an issue. Bike does have a safety feature to take care of this.yes if tge warning does not go away, Certainly one needs to turn off the bike for a while.

Yes agreed but not much I guess at the max 50 kms . D390 gives 30kmpl+ for sure in highways if I ignore the 36kmpl shown in my ODO

Sir, I know that and have been following your logs since ages. If you remember we meet in last year's South ISG2G.

P.S. I never meant you don't have an aerodynamic helmet if it sounded that, my sincere apologies. I just wanted to highlight the importance of a good helmet for wind blasts.

Doing about 100-110 in rain post sundown and then suddenly being thrown into the right lane from the left lane due to a gust of wind onto the path of a fast approaching volvo, not a nice experience, in fact I was shitting bricks. Slowing down helped a little bit though.
Hmmm I guess we can attribute this to different people, different height ,different riding posture etc. - would like to hear from other owners ...

I'm starting to face a problem with chain slack in my 390....
My odo reads somewhere around 10000Kms...
Chain has developed uneven slack and is tight at one point and very loose at another point when I rotate the wheel due to which I'm unable to adjust chain slack properly... At SVC, they informed that the chain and sprocket needs to be replaced and is common with both 200 and 390 [every 10-12k kms]

Please let me know if anyone else has faced this issue....

One more question...Is motul 300V coming in 5W50 as well?...Please let me know if any one has procured it....

Happened to me too. Uneven chain wear... might have to replace the whole thing.... am at 8000 now.. probably due to our riding style.

This type of slack was present since day one of the bike. Iam facing chain slapping issue as well. Went to SVC several times but not luck. The chain is proper for first 5mins, after those 5mins the slapping is back. Any solutions?

EDIT - Any idea about chain sprocket kit cost with installation?
