Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Check this video. I am sure it will help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB4Ds...e_gdata_playerOriginally posted by vidhya View PostI'm starting to face a problem with chain slack in my 390....
My odo reads somewhere around 10000Kms...
Chain has developed uneven slack and is tight at one point and very loose at another point when I rotate the wheel due to which I'm unable to adjust chain slack properly... At SVC, they informed that the chain and sprocket needs to be replaced and is common with both 200 and 390 [every 10-12k kms]
Please let me know if anyone else has faced this issue....
One more question...Is motul 300V coming in 5W50 as well?...Please let me know if any one has procured it....
According to the video, uneven slacknes is natural, reffered as 'loose spots' and 'tight spots'.

Any one has any reviews how does MRA visor compare to the current pseudo fixes though I happen to read the MRA visor setup thread detailedly, but is it really worth the 8k spent on the stuff, when compared to locally sourced stuff, gyaan would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd prefer the Fazer visor as it's cheap, looks good, easy to install and solves the purpose. Why would I want to invest in a visor for Rs.8000 when I can get an alternate for hardly Rs.300.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThat's a great mod. If you want to know the difference between the two,
MRA:
1. Has excellent build quality.
2. No vibrations or fluttering at high speeds.
3. May take a hit and survive.
Fazer:
1. Cheap
2. Reasonable quality (If it breaks, just get an other one. It's only 200 bucks.)
3. Slight fluttering at the corners at 120+ speeds. This no way affects the ride quality or makes a difference. Only thing is you notice a small vibration in the corners of the Visor.
4. Solves the purpose bloody darn well.
P.S - All the above mentioned comments are from my point of view only.

Appreciate the efforts Venkatesh. Apart from being marked as Made in Germany, and being adjustable, I just wanted to get handsdown insights as to how it fares. Of course still considering the MRA, let's see.Originally posted by Venkatesh Velmani View PostPersonally, I'd prefer the Fazer visor as it's cheap, looks good, easy to install and solves the purpose. Venkatesh read your xbhp article. Good write up and pictures and good experience too. Take care of your cut fingers.what about your metzelers how they perform, and how many more kms they will last?If change needed would you continue with metzelers or any alternatives you choose?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I guess you are asking about a side by side comparison of CBR and MRA windshields and the amount of wind deflection achieved from both of them. I dont think anyone has done it yet, all we have heard is MRA owners and other (CBR/Fazer etc) windshield owners claiming it does the jobOriginally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThat's a great mod. Why dont our 390 owners here get together and make a comparo?
And unless you plan to ride consistently above 120kmph, you dont really need the windshield, esp in Ooty
But you will feel the need in boring 4 lane highways.
I would suggest just get the Fazer windshield, try it out and if you are really unhappy, look for MRA.
And yes, newer lots have lesser niggles than before. They have solved the starting issues and also the stalling issue when clutch is pressed (they increased idling to solve this
) but anyways, you will have more peace of mind. And a thorough PDI is a must, one of my friend didnt have ABS ring on rear brake

Metzelers perform great! I'm not planning to change to another brand anytime soon (unless off-roading). It lasted for around 11800 Kms rear.. changed it last week.. front will run for another 4 or 5K kms..

See this My Flamberge (KTM Duke 390) Ownership report - A middle aged man's perspective - Page 9 - Team-BHP
There are 4 wind screen options for KTM from MRA - MRA V-Flow C type, Z-type, RNB & one KTM specific.
The best part is the holder which connects the visor with the handle. The cantilever-like setup improves strength and prevents fluttering at the top.
Abroad some people put Puigs and MRA RNB's on FZ1, CB1000R etc so you can imagine the speeds sustenance.
Though I personally use Fazer windscreen but did a small research on MRA
Congratulations in Advance.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostNot yet, but she will be coming home in month or twos time, so just wanted to get the knife straight into the butter regarding all the nitty-gritties.
