Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Nitin. I bought Tribocor Chain Lube and Cleaner from EBay India after having asked one of our mods, Blackthorn (VJ) here in XBHP. Got the opportunity to test it once and trust me, the cleaner does super job, so does the lube. Its sticky and doesn't create a mess. Ease of application since it has a 6-10 cm long tiny pipe given as an attachment for the nozzle.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostPlease let me know from where did you buy it. I am planning to pick one up.
I bought the combo for 700-800 Rs.Regards,

At what intervals should the coolant oil be replaced/topped up?? It has been 700kms since the last top up and I find the coolant to be just a notch above the minimum mark.

It should be between or slightly higher than between the min and max markings.
Btw oil change intervals are in the manual, so stick to those and other fluids need to be topped up as necessary only. There is no interval for those.
Also, frankly the top up intervals of coolant and brake fluids is subjective. For example, I have never had to top up the coolant to date (bike has done 6500kms) from purchase but I topped up only the rear brake's fluid as reservoir showed minimum fluid level.
See, it depends on various factors. Like what is the weather like, if its cold the fluids last longer. Also coolant life can depend upon daily usage and what riding conditions you face. Like if you ride in heavy traffic unable to go above 50kmph then coolant is expended faster. And only your braking style determines how long your brake pads/fluid lasts. I had my rear brake pads replaced at 1070kms on odo but have since nit had to replace them. The front is still going strong.

Hey bro, here it is. I am not sure if XBHP allows this kind of post. I don't know the guy personally, nor I am endorsing the products sold by him. Its just that Tribocor is good.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostCan you give me the link of both cleaner and lube?? Its ok to post links here as long as you're not linked with the seller in any way and you're not soliciting for him (being a middle man/agent).

Clean and good as new. Nothing to worry about the bike. Worry about your wallet if you have missed the 1st Free Servicing due date.Originally posted by THE46FAN View PostNever realized there's a

The magical 26 days isn't gonna affect the engine in anyway. Accidentally extending it even by a month isn't gonna affect the engine, as long as correct run in and oil level is observed. But sooner the better for oil sake, as the gunk suspended in the engine means, the filter has to work hard. The only problem is you'll get your warranty void in case something goes wrong dealer citing first service issues. But apart from that you're totally fine.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Not very low. Let's say around 5k rpm where the power starts building up. Happened in the middle of an overtake. I did get it checked in the svc. They couldn't determine the cause and blamed it on the fuel. It's been happening randomly so they couldn't identify it in the test run. I'll probably take it to another svc and get their opinions.

Yeah, the svc guys have a bad habit of blaming the fuel for everything.
Do check if your bike lags a bit when the engine is still cold. If so its most definitely a fuel pump issue.
Changing svc wouldn't help. The svc guys everywhere will say the same thing coz they don't want to open the bike up.
Frankly bro, to own this bike you must know about bikes (know a lot). The svc guys as I said in an earlier post, are trained monkeys who only know to follow orders. Instruct them to look at something and they'll oblige but expect them to find and fix a problem and they'll just be stymied.
