So get the d390, and always ensure its serviced at the svc. That way any issues/replacements would be covered under warranty.Originally posted by mutatedknutz View Postill be using the bike for 2 years max then change it so no issues about parts and i wont be doing modding so bike will be in warranty
few niggles like?
i dont want any major issues.
niggles like busted fork seals (some improvement has been made wrt to this compared to initial lots), fuel pump replacements, throttle body replacements (again has supposedly sorted out on later models), crank shaft replacement etc.. you are good as long as its under warranty, and newer lots seem to have improved in quality. But if you want a comparison, lets say its not as trouble free as a CBZ or a unicorn.

Tank cap vibration is frustrating, already got it changed once. Now again the issue has popped up. I have to visit svc almost every couple of weeks with some issue. It has just been 5months and i am very much frustrated because of it.

Don't give up just yet. First off the tank cap is not the issue so much as the tiny flap on it that covers the key hole. It always loosens and vibrates. Also don't go to svc with every minor issue. Identify all of them and then go to them otherwise you'll just end up taking residence there.
And try to diy as much as possible. Trust me the ktm mechs are no experts and almost anything they do, you can do just as well. Except the actual engine, throttle body and other essential electronics like the fuel pump and speedo, everything thing can be diyed.

Yeah i always service my bike in service centres only.Originally posted by s1d View PostSo get the d390, and always ensure its serviced at the svc. That way any issues/replacements would be covered under warranty.

So the new bikes have been fixed with issues? and also i saw ktms website they got the black d390 now, but i prefer the white one more
Will i get 2015 white model? or they stopped selling white models?
And what about tyres? how long they last? and whats the cost? i dont mind replacing it with same metzelers.

I too have been having vibration/buzzing noise near the fuel tank especially around 5k rpm. It's not the fuel cap.. Instead the sound is coming from somewhere below the fuel tank area. One culprit I found was the spring lock thingy behind the right foot peg.

Metzelers should cost you about 8-9k for front and about 10k INR for the rear. Both black and white models have been on sale since mid 2014 but the showrooms are not stocking then since they want to drive the customer towards the Rc bikes. But bookings are open for both dukes.

What spring lock thingy? You mean the stud holding the foot peg in place? Or the one on the pedal?
In any case while riding they are under stress since you have your foot on them. Check the radiator covers instead.

What is the fix for the issue. I'm having the same issue since last 2-3 days. Will go to SVC this weekend.Originally posted by Balgi View PostDon't give up just yet. Any home DIY for it???
The noise seems to come from the key hole rather than the flap itself.

Get a button sized magnet and put it on the flap. It should be enough to not vibrate.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostWhat is the fix for the issue. I'm having the same issue since last 2-3 days. Will go to SVC this weekend.

Sad to say there's No real solution buddy. All pulsar bikes are cursed with this but unfortunately the 390's vibrate more violently so the vibrations are more audible.
But I did see a bit of a jugaad in this very thread I think a few pages back. It involved sticking a piece of two sided tape to the base of the flap and leave the other side with a piece of plastic over it to keep it from sticking.
I however think that the Honda brand tank caps are the same size and should be a direct fit, that's if you don't mind the separate key.

Regarding color choice, you have to only check with the dealer. I do not know if white has been discontinued. Your best bet is to check with the dealer and also email ktm if you have any questions regarding it (sometimes dealers try to push whatever stock they have by giving vague reasons)
Newer lots from around Sept 2014 onwards come with a hard plastic cover over the rear monoshock and a flap just above it to trap dirt. You will also see a date stamped on the monoshock cover and i have observed that this date is very close to the actual date the bike was manufactured.(on the few bikes ive seen including my d200)
The tires, I do not know.. maybe other 390 owners can help you.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Installing a different brand tank cap seems like an overkill. Maybe we could just stick a round shaped rubber on the inside of the flip replacing the current small rubber ring. I'll try some jugaad.Originally posted by Balgi View PostSad to say there's No real solution buddy. Use gum drops, it's cheap as peanuts works really neat.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostInstalling a different brand tank cap seems like an overkill. Maybe we could just stick a round shaped rubber on the inside of the flip replacing the current small rubber ring. I'll try some jugaad.
