Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
not by much I presume(negligible).there is enough space underneath the plastic tank covering.the fuel tank itself is not metal and I'm sure they can easily engineer the needed capacity.the extra range is badly required for this bike.with 4 more litres =extra 100kms to the range easily.Originally posted by anilp View Post

Agreed the tank capacity is that bad.. but now a days bunks are there quite a lot too. I mean i have been doing 500-600 plus trips occasionally and never failed to locate a bunk in time. Just try refueling when it just leaves the half tank mark. That way you have more time to prepare.
Cheers

Thats part of the problem with the 390. On straight highways, one is forced to break every 2 hours for refuelling.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostAgreed the tank capacity is that bad.. but now a days bunks are there quite a lot too.
On one ride I had to refuel 6 times in a day!
But its a happy problem and all is forgotten when you get going

Indeed..and the way i see it, it counts as a butt break too. So no extra time wasted to relax, and yes, all is forgotten once back on the bike.Originally posted by Mik View PostThats part of the problem with the 390. On straight highways, one is forced to break every 2 hours for refuelling.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Anyone got projectors installed on their 390? Or changed the headlights? Find the lighting quite poor on dim lit roads/highways.There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Any feedback on the P220 lights? Heard they are very good. Since they have the same 12V/55W rating, should be a direct fit on 390 electricals? There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Haahaa!! Wish I could hear headlights saying 'pothole ahead'!!Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostYou can hear headlights??? Nice!!
On a serious note though, Heard it from few people that P220 lights are good. Best light on Bajaj bikes. Light up the road very well.
Has someone tried putting them on the 390?There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Why do want to fiddle with OEM headlight setup? Just plonk two 10 W CREE LED lamps, like i have done. Its a decent solution with fairly good illumination. Have been using it for about 9000kms now, without any issues. Costed me 6K for a pair. Can be used as day time running light also as it consumes just as much power as indicators. Give it try.Originally posted by mustang28 View PostAnyone got projectors installed on their 390? Or changed the headlights? Find the lighting quite poor on dim lit roads/highways.

Sir, do you have any before/after pics of the same. Would like to understand the difference it makes. Also, a bit more detail around the installation etc would be very welcome :-)Originally posted by nasirkaka View PostWhy do want to fiddle with OEM headlight setup? Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Attended the KTM Track day in MMSC Chennai this weekend, thanks to KTM India and Apex Racing
. Got to learn so much about Duke and all the mistakes we do while riding.
Riding the whole track in single gear (I used 4th gear) without using brakes really teaches you a lot about throttle control and how much difference it can do if you are smooth with throttle.
Here is a pic from the event

Anybody from here had attended the event? Wouldve been great if we couldve met. Anyways, look forward to the next track event in Feb!

I do not have before and after pics, but had shared some general pics of the light in this thread itself. Following is a video which gives fairly accurate idea of the amount of light they produce.Originally posted by Mik View PostSir, do you have any before/after pics of the same. Out of of a pair of 10W CREE LED lights mounted on STD 500. This video has been shot at Guhagar beach, India
Installation is not plug & play but simple enough depending on which place on the bike you want to install the lights. i have fixed it on to the top part of the front forks, and had to get a small clamp made. wiring can be done in two ways, one is where u just connect it to the parking lamp, so the lights come on, when parking light are switched on, thats how i have it. Second way is to get a small toggle switch mounted on to the handle bar, and control the lights independently. This is how i have the same lights installed on my C5.
Alternatively, if u r in bangalore, you can visit "art of motorcycles" close to dairy circle, and they will do the entire work for you. thats where i got it done for both my bikes.
