Coneset doesn't need replacing at a set interval, it almost usually depends on the way one rides and or the pavement one rides. Most of the times, if you're a sedate rider and ply on good set of tarmac, the coneset does tend to last longer, irrespective of the kays clocked, at most they would require periodic lubrication (grease in this case) to prevent the balls from getting rusted.

But unless you observe tight handlebar movement, or erratic swings when you pull your hands off the bar when on the move or any strange noises when you use your front brake, the coneset should be good. I always second this notion, why fix if it ain't broke.

    Cheers!

    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The headlight mask looks badass on Duke 200 and 390. The only thing thats stopping me are whether or not it will be practical, lets say for touring, and the price.

Comes around, give or take, 13K from Ebay.com w/o shipping.

The suit is a dsg full leather piece. I think ktm got them made from them specifically for this only. It should ideally cost 29-30k

              .

Visited Kasturba Road SVC this morning and I told them the situation. To my surprise he said no need of servicing without completing 5000kms for paid service. It is only for "free services" the time interval is applicable. He assured me that the warranty will be intact.

My mail to KTM India fetched no response. Therefore, I will go with whatever the SVC has told v me. 3k wasteful expenditure avoided.

What the hell.... Okie. My dear fellow riders. Need your expert replies.
I went to the KTM showroom yesterday at lajpat nagar ... The owner for some reason is lil pushing me to buy a 200 instead of 390. Don't know why though. But when I asked him for the reason ... He says that 390 gets heated excessively and only good for winters.

Listening to which I smiled and left.

I think he is doing so is because to hipe the 200 sales.

So gents. Throw some light. Are any of you facing the excessive heat issues even while moving ???

Irrespective of any heating or performance issues, he shouldn't be pushy about any of the models. Few reasons I can think of is either he has a model which is defective, of last year or for some other reason rejected by another customer. If you have the slightest concern change your dealer and contact someone else.
My friend has an RC390 and it does heat up even in the current 43-44 degree heat but still it is nothing that stops him from riding it. So you should be good with either of the Dukes.

It is okay for street riding however not good at-all for touring . It has less than adequate lighting and no wind protection. For touring you should stick to stock headlight and get a aftermarket windsheild (not the powerpart one).

And better stay away from that KTMUpgrades website. They have no purchase protection if your item is lost in mail. Rather get it from ebay.

I am planning to get one myself after my upcoming turbo upgrade.

Thnx mate. I was certain about it but just wanted a voice top over

I have been riding ns 200 for 41k kms now. Hence upgrading to duke 200 .. Nah... Doesn't seem logical.

Hmmm. Strange, had a good experience with KTM Lajpat nagar. He made both 390/200 available for test ride and gave a good discount as well! Though 390 heats up a lot but its way far more fun than 200. Plus metz and abs and extra hp in the small difference of amount makes it much better option.

After a bit of nagging he gave a discount of 2.5k . Although, i contacted 3 other showrooms, one in Noida and two in delhi but they did not offer that much discount! During delivery he gave me option to choose between 3 bikes he got the same day to the showroom. Only problem i had with this dealer was that i wasn't getting notified about ktm rides via sms. Luckily i met ktm guys on my tour to rishikesh and the manager there got this sorted out. SO now, i get all ktm event details!
