Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Got my bike today from SVC. As updated earlier, it was a loose clutch nut that caused the issue. It was tightened with 12kgm torque as opposed to 10kgm earlier. For the first time in my life I saw a torque wrench in a SVC! Ravi was patient in assuaging my concerns.
What beats me is if this issue was known and solution was also known why was it not done earlier? Why wait till it fails?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Finally!!
Couple of things to note:-
Slipper clutch feels so light.
Tried to adjust the gear/rear brake levers to my ankle position but they said it's not possible. Anybody else did this?
Suspension seems to be softer than previous models.
Breaks have a good feel and bite.
Too much heat coming onto my thighs and ankle area. Anybody else feeling this?
Is this because they have set the slow speed high?"" - Shubhabrata Marmar

Heat near thighs is prevalent among all duke 390 bikes ( i have test ridden a 4 km odo reading bike as well have ridden my friends 2014 model D390 with 10k+ odo reading felt almost similar heat), you will get adjusted to it after some time ( that is what all owners have been telling )

Another small mod done on Thursday. Replaced the stock mirrors with the Apache RTR mirrors. Vision is much better despite the new mirrors being just slightly bigger. The shape is also not so different. I think the Apache mirrors are concave as opposed to the plain ones on the KTM.

Yes a direct fit. Ask for the mirrors of the RTR. The rubber shroud for the stems is from the original KTM mirrors. The Mirrors cos me Rs.390/- for a pair and I paid a small tip to the mechanic for the fitting.Originally posted by faiz0210 View PostRVM Direct fit?? No modification required?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
So, I ll be receiving the bike in a few days, wanted to ask about the run-in procedure. Its written everywhere to keep rpms below 7.5k for 1000kms and then an oil change. Now for my previous bike, P180, the run in was done in the following method-
Rpm increased by 1k after every 500kms. Started at 5k rpm and ended the run in after 2000kms. Changed the engine oil at 200-250kms, then at 1000, and at 2000.
Which method is most suitable for the bike? And for the oil change at 250 kms mark, which engine oil should I go for?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Have taken my 390 to the hills apart from city rides for more than a year... Heating is frequent in traffic but not had overheating issues that'd stall the ride to cool down first.
Bottom line: The heating is bearable for me personally.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi,
I sold my Duke 200 almost a year back as I got a car. I would like to get a bike again. I'm confused between 200 and the 390. Price being a factor. I've seen a Duke 390 (1.5 yrs old and 10k kms run) and the price seems to be good. My running is about 70kms a day. Should I go back to Duke 200 (I'm sure I won't regret it. I have been regretting all these days for selling it though).
Any suggestion would be quite helpful.Ride Safe!!
