Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
after you press the ABS first time for 5 sec it will blink 3-4 time - it means it s off now. when 2nd time you again press it, that means ABS is back on [ or one can just switch on/off the bike to bring the abs back on]Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostAlso, how to know when ABS is ON/OFF in the Duke 390? I press the ABS switch for 5 secs. ABS light blinks 3-4 times. Again I press the switch, and again ABS light blinks 3-4 times. And both ways, ABS light stays on for sometime after start after which it switches OFF. Can ABS really be switched off in Duke 390?
Can someone give a practical side to the whole theory please? I am not able to reciprocate what's written in manual in reality. Help please.
Cheers

Okk. It means after switching off the ABS if I turn the ignition OFF and then turn ignition ON again, ABS is switched ON by default????? Reallyyy. Didn't know this fact.[emoji4] [emoji16]Originally posted by coolmaverickguy View Postafter you press the ABS first time for 5 sec it will blink 3-4 time - it means it s off now. when 2nd time you again press it, that means ABS is back on [ or one can just switch on/off the bike to bring the abs back on]

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Changed the tires to Michelin Pilot Street this weekend. They seem to be more flickable and turn easier than the Metz. However I am not getting the confidence of the Mez yet.
And today my rear mono shock started leaking oil
Noticed it as soon as I reached office. I plan to take to the SVC in the evening - is it ok to drive 20km with the leak?KTM Duke 390 | RE Interceptor 650

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Regarding the new tires, give it some time for breaking in, once they cross 1.5k mark tires get real grippier and wear evenly, both front and rear. Leaking rear shock would make the suspension action softer. It's not a big problem, temporarily, if you ignore it then you're going to bottom out completely in the middle of nowhere, get it done ASAP.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostChanged the tires to Michelin Pilot Street this weekend. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Those who've fitted crash pads are the rear, has anyone managed to do it over the tyre hugger grove using a longer sized bolt? Do advise as I don't intend to get rid of the hugger for the crash pads. Thanks

The Michelin is good. I have it on the rear wheel. So far, it's been good. The wet grip isn't as good as the metzeler but still fairly good. I got my Michelin from a dealer in shukrawar peth.Originally posted by aloksingh15 View PostHi All,

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Dont mind me saying this:
1. Duke 390 is a single cylinder Naked bike and R3 is a twin cylinder sport bike. For this sole reason, the 2 bikes should NOT be compared for whatsoever the reason
2. Is it worth 3.8 OTR? Ok I want you to consider a few things. Can you name any bike that is built in India that is a twin cylinder? ( I dont know of any, maybe you might)
Now all the twin cylinder bikes that we have in india are bought in via the CKD route and assembled here. Since they are imported that increases their cost but since they are CKD, its not as high as what it would be if it was a CBU
The cheapest twin cylinder you can get is TNT300 which costs more than 3lakhs OTR but less than the R3. Z250 and N300 are even more expensive.
So 3.8 is worth it when you consider all these factors. Ofcourse the ABS is a turn-off but some people dont find it necessary as they believe in their riding skills.
