KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences

    Slightly OT : KTM Marathahalli has got 2016 manufactured RC390 and it seems there is no price bump and it is equipped with the Slipper Clutch.
    Although D390 manufactured in 2016 is still not present.

    The KTM guy confirmed that RC 390 in India will only be coming with the Slipper Clutch and some electronic changes. No RBW and no side mounted exhaust will come to India. I wonder what @Amodraut was sharing on the RC 390 thread is true or not. No clue

      2016 D390 won't make a difference as there are no changes, but as you pointed the RC390 will have the mentioned revisions..

        Hi guys, went to the TVS showroom today to check out Apache dual horn. Really really nice sounding pair of horns. Sounds like a sharp version of Roots Windtone minus the trumpet sound.
        Now will check out Gixxer horn tomorrow & make a decision.

        My question whether these horns are compatible with the Duke 390 or not? Pls help guys.

          You'd be requiring a relay for dual horn setup, the stock is designed to a handle a horn only another toad can give heed to. Install a relay for peace of mind.

            But, Apache, Suzuki dual horns are compatible with Duke 390 no? With relay of course.

              Buddy horns are not designed for any specific vehicle....
              To operate as designed they need the correct voltage and current. If your Duke can give it, it will function as designed. Just install a relay n power from battery direct, it will work just fine.

                Stock dual horns bikes have a relay already in them inside the BCU which regulates the voltage to the horn. On a single horn setup, you need to install relay to prevent overload on the horn wire/switch and fuses.

                Get a relay and install the dual horns.

                    I read online about some Bosch relay (20A). Pic below-

                    Where can I find it? Is it available in automotive stores? Or have to go to an electrical store? Or what to say to the retailer??

                        Correct D390 wont be having any difference but people who are planning to buy in early 2016 will wait for the 2016 manufactured Dukes. Second, the RC390 has already come out with Slipper Clutch without any notice and those are the 2016 manufactured bikes and there is no hike in the price as well. So that's what I meant earlier!

                          I booked the D390 on Jan 5th, 2016! The dealer said 2016 manufactured D390's would come towards the end of Jan, but as we know with no changes, so I took the existing stock, but got it registered in Jan, 2016 this week and that's what factored almost in all important matters

                            AFAIK your manufactured year matters while selling the bike. For eg. your's would be a 2015 model whereas anyone who will purchase during the end of Jan will have 2016 mentioned in the RC. Rakshit Rana has also booked one and will wait till Feb to get the 16 manufactured D390.

                              While both enter the RC book, the registration date matters! I've sold 4 bikes prior to this

                                AFAIK manufacturing date matters more as compared to registration date, you have seen many superbike owners have registered their bike much after the manufacturing of the bike.
