System G / Sytem D - Does it Really Enhance Performance !
It can be used on motorcycles as well, especially the ones with FI.
I did buy system G. Should I use it at every tank full or alternate tank full ??
I goofed up today.. poured 10ml of SystemG but didnt notice that I filled Speed petrol. So now its like fuel additive + System g additive. Will it harm ???Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

Too much additives will smoke their way out. The recommended dosage of System G is 1ML/1000ML or 1 liter of fuel. You've used 10 ML which according to System G principles, is a tank full of gasoline additive for the Duke. The fragile seals and rubber grommets can expand and cause fuel pump failure or leak, just a word of caution. Speed Petrol with System G won't cause any harm.Originally posted by Veeral View PostHey Sid.

Basially, System G and cleaners are for old gunked up fuel delivery systems and people who fuel from different fuel stations time to time.
Absolutely nothing to worry, just remember not to go overboard next time.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Not sure if it will increase my FE or run engine smoother. But definitely something is happening inside as I do notice difference in exhaust note and engine noise. Overall gives a smooth riding experience. One will notice difference immediately after 10km of adding system G.
Should I use every tankfull or alternatively? Also as per my calculations its 10ml only for the first time and then its like 8ml around since wenever I usually refill, 8L of fuel gets poured in.Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

Monthly tankfuls method is an effective option, saves money and gives the best bang for buck, considering the ease of use on a monthly basis as opposed to every now and then. 10 ML per tankful every month, not a bad idea at all.Originally posted by Veeral View PostPhew.. Chain lubes in fact very good shelf life, as long as they are in can, pretty much like engine oil, there shouldn't be too much a concern.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys I have a query , what is life of chain lube from date of manufacter? Specifically mogul chain lube?

Really? Cause I purchased a lube today , it said date of manufacture 2014, haven't opened, I'm wondering if its expired, obviously not opened.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostMonthly tankfuls method is an effective option, saves money and gives the best bang for buck, considering the ease of use on a monthly basis as opposed to every now and then. 10 ML per tankful every month, not a bad idea at all.

Oil doesn't degrade easily unless they are tampered, tampered meaning, i.e. in case of engine oils, oil cap not tightened, container kept open so dust and stuff enters the oil. Remember oil attracts dirt so they get easily contaminated, though they look fine. Chain lube is more thinner than oil and kept in pressured containers, so chances of contamination is almost 100 eliminated. Nothing to worry, about go ahead and use the lube.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostReally? KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Hi all there's something I've recently noticed happening with my bike. On cold starts I see white smoke coming out of the bend pipe and from below the radiator fan.
Bike isn't washed by anyone daily and I've also got it checked at the SVC who say it's normal.
I own the bike since Jan, 2016 and never noticed this before.
Feedback would be useful. Thanks

No difference in the 2015 slipper clutch models and the 2016 models besides the DRLs. Confirmed with multiple dealerships as well as other 2016 owners here on XBHP. No increased bolt size or mount points as of now, no disc thickness, nothing. I personally measured the disc thickness on my 2015 end Duke 390 and Rakshit from here who got the Jan, 2016 model with DRLs did the same thing too. No difference.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostFor those who have ridden both '16 and '15 D390 models, are there any positive changes? Like braking because of increased thickness or smoothness because of the bigger bolts (I think) and different mounting points?
So the bike was good, revised in mid 2015 and it holds good till date. Cheers

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Is there any sign's of oil seepage from the head which might be getting burnt near exhaust at front side of engine? Because I have never seen such smoke on my 390 or my friend's one.Originally posted by judebrent View PostHi all there's something I've recently noticed happening with my bike. Nothing significant that actually caught my attention! Another XBHP'ian @Veeral from Mumbai has/had the same issue on his D390 too!Originally posted by rick_7428 View PostIs there any sign's of oil seepage from the head which might be getting burnt near exhaust at front side of engine? You can use it every tankful too or if you fill up say 3 litres, add 3 ml.. not everyone does a tankful-tankful every time.. including me.Originally posted by Veeral View PostHey Sid.

Just use approximation and don't go over board. So say you fill 3 litres and added 5ml, its perfectly ok. Adding a wee bit more at times hasn't caused any issues thus far to me. And don't worry, mixing speed/system g will not cause any issues. I haven't found any of these premium fuels (speed/xtra premium etc/) make any positive difference but system g does.. so stick to regular fuel and use system g instead of paying 2rs extra for the fuel.

There is a difference in seat material. Pillion seat is more roomy and the seat is not that hard.Originally posted by judebrent View PostHi all there's something I've recently noticed happening with my bike. There is a difference in silencer sound as well. It's not as loud as before.
There will be many trivial changes but we don't know for sure.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I noticed that once on my d200 on an early morning when i had just started the bike. It did not have any odor and was present for 5-10 seconds.. just a very little smoke from around the bend pipe/radiator area.Originally posted by judebrent View PostNothing significant that actually caught my attention! Another XBHP'ian @Veeral from Mumbai has/had the same issue on his D390 too!
As soon as i got back home that morning from work, I took a torch and looked at every nook and cranny but did not find any leakage of oil or coolant. Next I took a few drops of coolant out from the expansion tank (using a syringe+catheter) and put a couple of drops on the hot exhaust but there wasn't much smoke but a odor.. so i assumed it might just be dew/condensation or a bug getting barbecued
Headed to the svc at 9am and neither could they find anything out of place, like a coolant leak or oil leak. We left it at that and thought to observe for a couple of days.
I haven't noticed this happening again (my bike is fired up almost every morning at around 430am after sitting in the office parking overnight). And I have done around 7000km since that happened.
I am still wondering what could have caused that.. because I have used the bike at cooler places like Ooty, Munnar and did not notice such a behavior.. I did keep an eye on it for the next few days but never saw it happen again.
