Yes. The manual recommends the chain to be lubed every 500 KMS and slack to be adjusted for the same. Chain loose has always been an issue on all the bikes, it needs constant adjustment/lubing every 500 KMS.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Lube fine, is tightening a DIY?

Chain loosening is more when you do a lotta engine braking.

Absolutely tightening can be done by yourself if you have the right tools.

I lube every 500 Kms. But was not aware that we should adjust the slack as well. Thanks for the confirmation!

If you go through the manual, the procedure is pretty simple, what makes chain tightening a hindrance is the lack of center stand. Get yourself a paddock stand and suddenly everything seems easy. Yes, everything can be a DIY, provided you have the right tools and knowledge.

By my personal experience if u use ur bike daily, lube the chain weekly once atleast, because the amount of dust in the cities are very high, tightening by sight and sound, I'd say roughly every month or soo.

I prefer following one mechanic for the bike.
Also planned to do few mods (appearance) and fixing a LED projector, the tools in the bike would be enough (for DIY changing the headlight panel and led) ?
I change oil and oil filter for every 4000 kms. I usually get my service done at ASC (Selayur KTM). As for the tools, if it's just simple screws and bolts the toolkit should suffice, but I generally use my own tools.

U'll love the bike man. Me also coming from a ZMR. It was so bulky. Maneouvering it was so difficult in tight parking spaces which are mostly inclined. But, with the Duke I've no problems at all. It's so lightweight. Only place where it's a con is high speed stability. It tends to fly at high speeds. I guess it's not for nothing that superbikes are so bulky.[emoji6] [emoji16]
Another thing I'd like to mention is that this bike is very safe. I mean earlier on any bike, if it's a straight highway I used to ride till the very limit (140-145 kmph). But, nowadays it's been a while since I've hit 100 kmph which is a record. Bcoz the windblast is pretty high from 90 kmph+ onwards. It's been a greattt boon for me actually. Earlier, on my ZMR used to do 115-120kmph everytime on highways on those skinny tires!!

I went to the SVC twice and they drained the coolant, filled in water and flushed and air packets. That didn't help either. I escalated the issue and their service head checked the bike and said all fine, excess engine heat on the legs and inner highs is normal!

I have ridden before in excess traffic and never had issues. All of a sudden the amount of engine heat is extremely high and I haven't had a high coolant warning at all.

What can I try out now?
Hey....I would like to ask....what happened abt the heating issue u were facing few days back..??

I'll need the windscreen as i fall under the Tourer category

Hmmm. Then, the bike should be a pretty good tourer as well. But, I'd advise you to be safe first. As I've encountered too many fatal bike accidents recently.

Heating is back to NIL again. Dunno why for particular 3-4 days I faced the issue. But, YES I did a lot of revving & lugging during those days. I've completely stopped doing those since. & the bike is cool again now.[emoji4]

Yeah Safety first and that's one reason I wanted a bike with ABS.
I've the gears and also my average speed would be 70-80kmph.. Would hit the top speed once in a while though...

*TouchWood* It's vanished, like Jack Daniels said, it comes for 3 - 4 days and go. I don't know, but maybe is still opening up after its first service!
