Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
The handful of Trivandrum - Cochin runs that I have made after getting my bike has taught me one thing, don't use a backpack to carry a laptop. The only parts of my body that hurt after these rides are the shoulders cause I have a backpack with a Dell Inspiron N5110. I am looking at purchasing a tank-bag soon as my laptop is something I have to have at all times (stupid jobOriginally posted by xplod566 View PostYeah the chest one looks good but then it might cause scratches.I liked the luggage concept.so you know any at a cheap price .we will be carrying two different bags
), either that or an ultrabook. I am leaning towards the much cheaper option.. I guess you would probably have a much stringer shoulder and lighter laptop, in which case you'll do fine. But thought I'd share this info anyways.
Must ride on!

For me I have got pillion. We both work in same company. We have the Lenovo T450, they say it's ultra book being ssd but it's like a normal laptop. So only option I have is me carrying it in front and pillon as normal .so I am looking for a viable option.Originally posted by ananthu View PostThe handful of Trivandrum - Cochin runs that I have made after getting my bike has taught me one thing, don't use a backpack to carry a laptop. The link i had given is a tankbag only. Neither the tangbag or the backpack will cause any scratches unless you have too much dirt sticking below the bag. Give a try in flipkart or amazon site, in filter use laptop holder of your size.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostYeah the chest one looks good but then it might cause scratches.I liked the luggage concept.so you know any at a cheap price .we will be carrying two different bags
He is riding only 40km a day so that wont be too much problem. Yes in long road trip i have face the same problem with my 15" laptop which weights around 2.3 kg + other accessories.Originally posted by ananthu View PostThe handful of Trivandrum - Cochin runs that I have made after getting my bike has taught me one thing, don't use a backpack to carry a laptop. Yeh, carrying a backpack will cause shoulder pain on long rides.. i learnt it the hard wayOriginally posted by coolmaverickguy View PostThe link i had given is a tankbag only. ever since if its a backpack that i carry, I strap it down using a bungee on the rear seat.
On longer rides, I use the viaterra velox bags (can use either one or both bags depending on the need)
For the tank bag, I recommend you get the viaterra tank bag (without the dslr inserts) and you could add a layer of foam inside the bag if you need to carry a laptop.
Maybe even add velcro straps inside to hold down the laptop in place.. a bit of a mod which i guess a seat cover/bag repair shop could help you out with.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys, after more than two years with the stock head lights, I'm finally changing them to HID projectors. So please suggest the most effective ones that are available in Delhi (without compensating on battery life). Also, can anyone suggest a reliable place to change them in Delhi (Karol Bagh)?

budget and best solution. get Koito projector with a 55w ballast. darn good setup and not expensive. unsure of places in delhi but ask for Koito + 55W HID.Originally posted by Intuinus View PostHey guys, after more than two years with the stock head lights, I'm finally changing them to HID projectors. if your budget permits then get Hella G3 + Philips HID + 55 watts ballast.
led projectors have a pencil beam and are useless. unless you use LED spot/spread beam as auxillary light. they are not meant for headlight.Originally posted by niku View PostLED projectors are battery saving ones.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys,
i have decided to buy 300 cc bike and want to take decision between mojo and d390 so please help me with below points where it will be easy in deciding.
1) how is the maintaining cost compared to the segment I.e, mojo,TNT,CBR.
2) how reliable this bike is? because herd some niggles and constant visit to ASS for resolving small issues and also Bangalore ASS are not decent in service or sales found very lazy to sell the bike, not even bothered to offer test drive and also didn't provide cost breakup.
3) how is the engine/radiator heat issue where fellow owners were feeling uncomfortable to ride in city(my ride will be 95% in city).
4) service feedback and sales experience is driving away from buying it.
Thanks in advance.

Can you link the product please.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostBought System G yesterday. It's really good. Works. My engine had become so rough. And engine sound was so harsh, like an auto. Noticed improvements to the smoothness, acceleration/ pick-up, etc. Engine sound has become much milder. I'd recommend the product for anyone looking to get relief from rough engine/ harsh engine sound as well as low pick-up. I'm satisfied.
In fact, it feels like the engine is back to the smoothness of First week.
The website says it's for cars. Just want to be sure. Thanx

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
1. KTM Spares are much affordable comparing to other brands in this category.
2. I own a D390 and I have friends using RC390 / D200. We are happy with the support from SC.
3. 95% city ride is definitely going to give you a baked thigh!
. D390 being a high compression naked bike, is sure to dissipate lot of heat from the engine. However CBR design helps in protecting the heat from reaching the rider's thigh. For 95% city ride, consider a D200.
4. Pre-sales problems will fade once you start riding the machine... Be prepared to be elevated to another level.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
All the aftermarket projector housing out there supports only 35W. 55W would burn the reflector inside the projector and over time the lights becomes too dim. Only The Retrofit projectors and DDM Tuning supports 55W and are tough to import and are costly. Just use LED headlight as most of them requires no modification or very little. Projectors require lot of modification and it's tough to undo it.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postbudget and best solution. get Koito projector with a 55w ballast. darn good setup and not expensive. unsure of places in delhi but ask for Koito + 55W HID.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
yeah the coverage area will be less when it comes to LED as there will be no reflector. I am getting a dual LED Alien headlamp in a week. Hope it doesn't irritate the people riding/driving on the other side. Else I'd switch back to stockOriginally posted by theironhorse99 View Postbudget and best solution. get Koito projector with a 55w ballast. darn good setup and not expensive. unsure of places in delhi but ask for Koito + 55W HID.
