Finally got the bike.



Impressions so far. The clutch is heavy with continued use I should get forearms like Rambo. It sounds like a generator. The gap between 1st and 2nd gear is too much, speeds below 20+ kmph are only good is 1st gear. Lugging it in second below 20 sounds and feels wrong. Maybe after the engine sets this could improve.
There is a sound coming from the rear and it seems to be the chain which is loose probably due to new engine. All in all there are a few niggles but as soon as you open the throttle you forget all of them and the sound becomes addictive.
Tomorrow I shall take a short trip with my daughter, and will get her to post a pillion review.

Got a call today to make the balance payment and submit my documents etc. will be receiving the bike in 4-5 days. I dont see any guys from nagpur here, but anyway i am booking number 10 in nagpur. I am really excited and nervous at the same time as the Duke 390 is my first bike. Anyway i have already bought riding gear to go along with it just counting days before i can finally ride it

After more than 5 months of wait, patience tested, fights, finally I got the bike on Thursday.

The dealer sent it home with a bouquet, cake and an apology. Complimentary paddock coming next week.

2 Sep? Wow, that's barely a month that you booked and getting your bike.

While I'm happy for the people who are getting their bikes, I am upset by the fact that people (in other cities) who booked AFTER me are getting their rides BEFORE me. I am stating this based on updates by several folks on the forums that they are getting deliveries within 90 days.

I know waiting can be tough but what can we do. I am getting the bike early as there are very less number of bookings in my city. Many cities have received 10+ bikes already. Even though i booked late my booking number was just 10, and this the second lot of bikes i believe for my city. First lot had four bikes i think and now five more are being delivered in this second lot. Two people before me said they want the bike on Dussera and hence i an getting my bike early. I hope everyone gets their bike soon.

Thanks all !

I've ridden more than 300kms now in 3 days in city!

Clutch is quite heavy, will give me a Rambo left hand, gears are smooth, engine rev happy, brakes superb and sharp and tires as well.

Heat is quite noticeable but should reduce post first service

Went on a small trip today to give Puja. My daughter accompanied me on the Duke and as promised here is her pillion review.


Hey! I'm Melanie and I'm 12, studying in the eighth grade. I have been riding my dad's bike(s) since before I was born. My Pillion experiences include a pulser 180, a Karizma, a couple of old Enfield Bullets, a Yamaha rx135 and last but not the least, a Duke 390. So, here's my pillion review:
The Duke's a fascinating bike, and I was over the moon when dad brought it home yesterday. We went on a short ride today - the seat is very, very hard and you could get a backache by sitting there for a long time. The foot pegs feel strong and firm. The grab-rails are basically useless, but they provide satisfactory support to the bum. People with generously proportioned behinds would find them quite advantageous. The best thing about the bike is the amazing speed. The most we got to was 68 km/hr but that was more than enough! I love the shrill whistling sound the bike makes while it is slowing down. But sad thing is, you can't show off while your on the bike... Cuz you gotta hold on tight!
People who decide to ride pillion on this bike should always hold the rider tight, if you take it casual you will end up doing a back flip.
Im happy with my dads choice and cant wait till Im 16 then my dad has promised to teach me to ride as well. Hope you liked my review here are a couple of pics....
