Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
LED's are working fine, but can check extensively when I get a chance to ride long. 90/100 ruined my car headlight and I don't want to make same mistake with my bike. So I prefer to use only LED, HID or Night Breaker halogen. Paid around 650 for 12V charger. http://s.aliexpress.com/z2Yv6f2q Not sure whether it works with cigarette lighter as I don't use that. There are two, 2 pin connectors for accessory line. Ground ends with two pin connector and positive ends with two pin connector. You need to connect black(negative) wire of charger to one of the ground pin and red(positive) wire of charger to one of the positive pin. Though I have not tested how good the Waterproof is, it looks promising as it has good rubber cover over the ports. And this model USB output(claimed) is 2.1A and not 1A or 1.5A unlike others.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostLive to Ride!

usually LED's won't work well with reflector. You ll get a bit more visibility Cz of those extra lumens. But not the full capacity. Efficiency ll be reduced. The led has to be in same location as the coil in Halogen light.Originally posted by Skanda View PostLED's are working fine, but can check extensively when I get a chance to ride long. 90/100 ruined my car headlight and I don't want to make same mistake with my bike. BTW does LED has high & low beam [emoji848]
Am planning to upgrade parking light alone as LED as I use it as DRL. I usually ride with head lights on when on long trips for better visibility but get frequent warnings from good Samaritans that my head light is on. Am not sure how Parking lights effective in increasing visibility.
Even am staying with 55/60 in car. Ruined car headlights like how? Melted reflector or dull cover ??
Even I don't use cigarette lighter but my car came with it. Ll be useful in long trips just in case you need some fire or heat. And if you have friends who smoke.

Correct me if am wrong. There are 2nos of 2pin connector. Each 2pin connector has ground(negative) & positive. There are two, 2 pin connectors for accessory line. 2.1A is awesome as I could charge my iPad too. Also works well with my tyre inflator.
Also it works only when ignition is on right.
Also am planning to do following upgrades to duke. As of now.
- hazard lights
- extra projector lights
- mobile stand.
Am using Fazer windshield what do you use ??

I'll try to. Just go to any TVS showroom and you can see for yourself. Price= Rs.650/- from TVS workshops. Btw, I think they are also available online as Minda Twin tone horns. But, I'm not sure. Sounds could be different.Originally posted by itsmridul View PostCan you upload a sample?
But, the sound is just too good. Just what I wanted. I can't stop honking them now.[emoji7] [emoji7]

LED's actually work better with reflector than hid's. There are separate led's for high and low beam and each are rated at 20W and 2000Lm. Pass light also works with Duke 390. Replacing parking light with led's does not help in any way. It's better to leave it as halogen as 4300k halogens has better visibility than led's if it is too foggy. This is the reason I didn't replace mine.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View Postusually LED's won't work well with reflector. You ll get a bit more visibility Cz of those extra lumens. 90/100 damaged my reflector badly. Some parts of reflector became damaged and brittle. I painted my reflector black and used hids with projector headlights.
Nope, there are two separate wires for positive and ground. And each of this wire has 2 female pins for connectivity. So you need to connect P and G of any accessory with two different wires. Single wire does not have both positive and ground terminal. I have attached a picture for reference.
2.1A is for USB port. You can use 12V socket for up to 10A. USB port is claimed as 2.1A but I doubt this with cheap Chinese product. It's better to use a good 12V car charger(Like Aukey) in the socket for charging mobile phones.
Hazard lights sounds good. Even I might plan in the near future. I'm using 6" cork type mobile holder from Rynox Gears and it works great. My mobile is 5.7" and so took the largest one that is available. Woks well with the armor cases that I have. Projectors are not so good for high beam, which made me not to go for them on my bike.Live to Ride!

Is it just plug & play like halogen. Or have to do extensive mods.Originally posted by Skanda View PostLED's actually work better with reflector than hid's. Yea White light won't work good in rain makes me to reconsider using LED for headlight too.
So 2nos of 2pin socket 1 is positive & another is negative. Thank you so much bro.

Yea projectors are good only for excellent low beams.
Some EU countries has mandatory Hazard light. Even super duke have one.

Well, not really. Do keep a tab on the leak, go for a spirited ride, and observe if you find any leaks, if you do, replace the gasket with a new one and apply the Loctite.Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostHe applied loctite on the old rubber gasket but he did not change the head cover gasket. he even did not remove the fuel tank to open the screws.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

I found slightly cheaper option for charger. Also they say they have an extra USB waterproof protector so we can use USB even in rain. But not sure if it's the only protector or flaps too available. The description says like thisOriginally posted by Skanda View PostIts just plug and play. No mods needed for 2*20W led.
Code:How to install a usb waterproof cover Use a knife to cut the top on the USB waterproof cover.put the USB connector into the cover.
BTW how many days it took for them to ship & what's the shipping charges.

Had seen this product before. Didn't buy it as the USB output was 1A. But the waterproof USB cover they show in the pictures do not give confidence. I don't believe it will be Waterproof while charging. And I do not want to take chances with costly gadgets!Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostI found slightly cheaper option for charger. Yea it's better to go with what you have as you already have the product & it's good. Not gonna risk for extra ₹50.Originally posted by Skanda View PostHad seen this product before.
