Removed the abs motor and got it cleaned and after a few light hits with a hammer the abs now works perfect and the light goes off as well.
Last remaining issue. The pump malfunction indicator always stays on and blinks sometimes. When checked with the disagonostic tool it reports pump/motor error, to which the svc guys said its because of the abs motor. I feel its bad wiring or bad sensor coz abs works flawlessly and fuel pump is new. Signed up for orange assist. Total amount spent today 1800.

Next up replace alloy wheels in insurance. Rest all is ok with the bike. FINALLY😉

Just purchased a 2013 d390 1 month back. The bike is stock with all original parts. Problems 've faced. Yes it heats up and lot and your legs can feel the heat to an uncomfortable level. I guess it can be fixed if you install a radiator fan from the 2016 model. Havent had any issues with the fork seals so far. Havent missed the slipper clutch so much but yes you can install a slipper clutch on 2013/14 model for around 10k. A lighter clutch would definitely help. How much are you paying for the 2014 D390. I paid 70k and another 15 so far to get it fixed, if you are getting the 2014 variant under a lakh and it is in decent condition I would say go for it. Cheers!
Hey thanks for the reply. Damn 70k is an amazing price. How much has it run? He's quoted 1.3lacs. It's run 15000km and has new tyres too. I'm yet to go see the bike as I'm confused if I should go for it, or settle with a Duke 200.

Well that low price had its catch. It was always used as a KTM test ride vehicle so was kinda abused. But considering the price I went for it and so far have spent 15k and will be installing a slipper clutch and new alloys so in all it would cost me around 1 lakh but in good condition. As far as your 2014 offer is concerned 1) see the bike 2) check everything and offer him 1.10 at the most as its a 2014. Cheers.

Thanks bro. I'd like to know how's it been after you bought your bike. Could you share how much it has run and how the bike has been. Is it reliable? Is 15000km a lot? I'm worried because it's my first bike and I don't have much experience in this. 😅

Bro Don't start on a duke 390 it's an animal very hard to control the motorcycle not handling wise but your reaction times should be better if you want to live with the 390.Absolute beast. It's Raw and unforgiving if you make a mistake.Very good motorcycle for weekends than any other motorcycle IMO one of the best motorcycles money can buy.But start on a duke 200 or a fz 25.Duke 390 is overkill IMO.Ride safe cheerio 🤘

OK you're scaring me. I'm gonna need the opinion of the people here. Is the 390 a bad bike to start with? Also I have some experience with scooters and bikes. And do not over speed at all because I am actually scared of losing my life and drive very responsibly. Is good throttle control and defensive riding enough enough or should I start with a baby duke? All opinions are welcome and it could really help in choosing a bike. I feel the power of the 390 would be wonderful for long highway rides. But I'm ready to even start with a 200 if you people say so. Thank you

If i were you for the first bike I'd definitely not choose the 390 let the people say I've ridden it and i say if you really want a powerful bike than the baby duke go fz25 or you can get the duke 200 which is an awesome machine.Without the woes of the old duke (i.e:heating) it's all my opinion.Ask some one who rides it for a first bike it's really risky. It's your choice anyway. If you have the experience on the saddle (Mile munching). You can get it right.Otherwise it's good to take a test drive and see you can handle it.Ask people who own it.It takes time and experience.

I definitely agree with him although I got the duke after owning 5 different pulsars and extensive touring over the years. But in wrong hands the 390 is dangerous I would suggest you take a extensive test ride of the D390 to get a taste of it.

So, it's the stuck valves in the ABS valves that causes the motor to function intermittently and throws up the ABS light. I reckon, since you said the ABS light goes off, after a slight hammering, perhaps though the ABS works, there is a minor pressure difference that the ABS HECU senses and throws up the light. Though the ABS works fine, perhaps it isn't 100% percent, from what I reckon from your post. Never mind, get your allows replaced

If you can see, the oil is collected at the base of the box, the oil is similar color to that of engine oil, it can also be caused be excess oil oil blowby. What color was the K&N oil filter oil that was provided with the filter?

I reported it to the service centre and took it there, the guy saw the history and cleared it off saying it wouldn't come back and we checked the engine oil levels which were perfectly fine. On the way back home from the service centre, the light came on again and it showed me the same warning on the TFT and I stopped on the side only to nice that it had disappeared instantly. I called the service guys and sent the bike again yesterday, they told me that I would have to keep it there for a day and it would be resolved as they'll have to check the sensor and internal stuff. Later in the evening, I got a call and they told me that when the bike was taken out for a test ride it was completely fine and that there wasn't anything wrong. I just got the bike back today and it didn't give me the warning, since it's my first bike it worries me that the bike is not even 2 weeks old and such errors are seen already, is this something serious or is it something I shouldn't really care about? I'm also very confused as to what should be done next. Any D390 2017 Owners here with the same issue? I am in two minds of taking my bike for a long ride because of this issue. What do you guys have to say about it? Do you think I could probably take it for a long ride? and anyone with such an experience with the bike, please help me out.
                      Thanks in advance.
Though it haunts to see oil pressure and HLU Failture and ECU console switching off, and phone pairing issues, these have been taken care of by a software update for the TFT console. Keep a tab on your oil level and also your Low Engine Oil warning on the console. If the oil level is halfway between the high and low your oil level shouldn't be of a problem. If we have this warning on the console frequently with the oil level at the right spec, we have a faulty oil pressure sensor. But for now, give it a day or two and observe how things are falling in place.

                      Cheers!

The 390 is a wonderful beast, no doubt about it.
In your case, since you are starting off and looking at a second hand 390, i would say it would be better off you spend that money on a new 200 or maybe the fz25. the reason being the second hand one's may have some issues and since you aren't very mechanically aware it maybe a pain to get them sorted out. if you can get confirmation from someone knowledgeable on the used unit, and it checks out fine.. then it's a good buy for around 1.2 L.

Whereas a new bike would give you the piece of mind of warranty. Again it is the character of the ktm's that people fall in love with.. so you decide what you like Fz25 vs ktm's (200/250/390)
If budget isn't a factor and you have a pretty sensible head, you could very well get yerself the new 390 ! Ride it around calmly and over a couple of months you will get used to it.

You can replace both the wheels and the motor. Replacing the alloy wheels would give you a peace of mind over the ever ridden potholed roads of our country. With a bent rim, the rim has already taken the brunt and in all cases can be structurally compromised. All it takes is a slight blunt to give up, and you don't want this to happen during a ride or when you least expect.

Yes, I reckon there's a pressure difference that causes the ABS unit to sense an error, because you've mentioned it switches off after slight hammering and then only comes to return after a while plus with a new console.

                            Cheers!

Filter oil was in light red colour. Similar to engine oil colour

I guess I'd better start with a 200 then and maybe later upgrade just like everyone else. Although I did have the confidence to start with a 390 before I posted here. 😅
