So , I was facing this weird rattle from the posterior right side of the bike at exactly 3k rpm. When i asked about this before, people said put your hand on the tankcap of the bike and if the vibes go away, this problem is quite common with dukes and i should just get rubber washers and fix it. That didnt help. One of my friends who owns a pulsar ss 200 said that fiber bodies have a lot of vibes. I didnt believe that but oh well , tried to tighten the four visible screws, helped about 30%. Then I thought it must be the exhaust and voila!! I tightened the two visible screws below the silver exhaust cover( this was the bastard that was causing the sound not the exhaust pipe) and the sound was gone. So if anyone is facing this issue try this , it may work.

I think I may have this. I hear a little buzzing near the exhaust pipe bend on left side of the bike. Will do this today and see what happens. Thanks for the info.Originally posted by rohangk View PostSo , I was facing this weird rattle from the posterior right side of the bike at exactly 3k rpm. If you have faced this issue then I would say it will creep up again, in my case i have faced multiple times this problem at last svc guy put some flexible rubber washers ( tightly ) on those two bolts on exhaust cover. And really it's irritating.Originally posted by rohangk View PostSo , I was facing this weird rattle from the posterior right side of the bike at exactly 3k rpm. When i asked .

Also don't confuse this with the footpeg vibration. There are sharp vibes at around 3 to 4k. Sometimes the rattle can be of a defective weld inside the silencer, I have known one instance where the silencer assembly was changed due to a weld that gave away that induced metal rattling. Not to dash you guys, but, just you never know. If the issue is resolved then fine, if it doesn't then, you just might want to look at that too.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

The can is on the right, but the pipe coming out of the cylinder is on the left. Also, could you please take a picture of that silver thing, I couldn't find it. Thanks.Originally posted by rohangk View PostJust to be clear, exhaust pipe is on right side.
EDIT: I can clearly hear the sound coming from around the region marked below. It's audible from idle to revs of 7-8k.

You are right i was frequently facing this issue, once svc guys also told that there's some problem in the welding of the exhaust but in my case it was faulty exhaust cover which has solved after putting rubber washers at both sides ( inner and outer ) after that it's around three months i am not that facing that irritating noise otherwise that noise used to creep up every 10-15 days after tightening bolts of exhaust cover.

The can is what i meant by the silver thing. You are talking about the exhaust pipe. I meant the underbelly silencer, on the right side of the bike. The silver thing is the cover of this exhaust outlet.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostThe can is on the right, but the pipe coming out of the cylinder is on the left. Harsha, Chill.Originally posted by sriharsha_madineni View PostI'm back to square one. Took the bike to rim throwing guy and he inspected both the rim and disc plate, said everything is fine.
He insisted that everything was fine even when I showed the pot hole mark.
I was confused by my friend and the KTM guy at madhapur when they showed the marked spot as bend.
Even I couldn't see the bend at that time and went by my friend and mechanic's word.
I took the ORR service road to check the bike's handling thoroughly. At 50-60 kmph if I leave the handle, bike was going dead straight.
After decelerating to 20 kmph, bike suddenly sways to right. The same scenario repeated over several trails.
I'm almost giving up on this as I had already wasted a week's time and money over this.
After some keen observation, it appears to me that the left handle bar holder is slightly twisted to one side.
At this point I highly suspect this to be culprit. I'm fed up going to the mechanic again and again, so I'll try fixing it myself over the weekend and update here.
Nothing wrong with your bike.
If Disc plate was bent, it will be easily evident in the front brake performance.
Loius from Madhapur is sketchy guy. Dont go by his words.
During decelerating, any bike will sway side ways. Even a slight bend in handle bar will give feeling of fork bend or mis-alignment.
After removing handle bar, place it in flat floor and see if edges touch and middle part of handle bar is flat to ground.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Yes. Unfortunately i didnt look at coolant level while taking delivery. It was not upto the Max mark. It was kind of in between Min and Max. So they topped it up.Originally posted by rohangk View PostCoolant top up after first service? Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

Coolant level is supposed to be between min and max. Coolant expands a lot and hence its supposed to be towards max but between min and max. What do you call a biker who does not wear a helmet? An organ donor.
