So the service cost (Usual) will be around 1600rs for Duke 390? Seems very pocket friendly considering it's class. Is the service interval 5000kms?

True. But even after heating it doesnt cross the max mark.

Not sure about the usual. As this was 1st free service. But it should be pocket friendly considering the cheap spare parts. And srvc interval is 7.5k i guess.

Riaz bhai, It looks like everything is good. There was just a minor misalignment which was fixed by a kick to the front wheel.

Over the weekend, I dismantled the handle to check the handle bar mounts. The bottom clamp part seems to be fine, but the upper clamp part is slightly bent it seems.
When I place the upper clamp on ground, only three out of four feet touch the ground. But it doesn't seem to affect the handle.

Been riding for a week post that and the bike is good.

First service is at 1000 kms or 45 days whichever is earliest. The next services are after 7500 kms each(8500, 16000) or 150 days whichever is earliest. Warrant period is 30000 kms or 2 years. Cost depends but cheaper than most.

Please share the total cost of it? Would appreciate it a lot. Looks complete without that ugly stock guard.

EDIT: Found out to be 3.8k, will get it if it weighs less than the stock one. Does it?

Nah not yet. Bike is just 1200 kms old. Might give it a try in future.

Byw faced a weird issue today. Started the bike and left a min or two. Idiling was varying. Gave A quick throttle and bike shut down. After that bike cracked but didnt start for about 15 20 secs. After about 30 sec tried again and it started normally. [emoji780]

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll skip it.

Now, for that noise I mentioned around the engine area, I took it to the SVC and asked them about it. He said it's the tappet noise and it's normal. Is it? It makes clik-clik-clik noise or something along those lines. It sounds metallic and TBH the engine sound makes it less audible. The bike's performance, fuel economy and other things are better than ever. Should I just ignore it?

Hi guys,

If you keeping any document under pillion seat. Make sure that it is in some plastic bag. Due to heavy rain today in mumbai water did enter under the pillion seat. Not sure if that is suppose to happen. Since I had a cloth under the seat, it was total wet as if i have dipped it in a bucket.(assume the amount of water poured in). I guess we have a open socket there through which ecu flasing is done. Hope it doesn't affect that.

i thought the pillion seat was supposed to be water proof ???? am i wrong.

A friend experienced it today morning upon riding 10kms on the duke.

I was facing heavy vibrations after fourth service during which air filter was replaced. Went to svc and the service rep tried to bluff around giving all sort of stupid excuses. Luckily the service manager was very helpful and he scolded service rep for not checking the problem reported. We found out that there was a minor crack in the air filter box. Again the service rep tried to bluff saying that air filter box wont be replaced in warranty and then spare is not available. Called up bajaj customer care, got a call back from KTM informing that the spare should be available. Service manager stepped in again, inquired about the box and found that it was indeed available. Service rep was then scolded quite nicely. Air filter box cracking is a manufacturing defect and it has been rectified with the new versions. It was replaced under warranty absolutely free of cost. Do not trust what the service engineers say, they just dont want to work on anything if the bike is not being serviced. Air filter box should be replaced immediately as that could let in dust eventually spoiling the engine.

It isnt water proof at all. Water seeped in couple of times during washing.
