There is a difference in silencer sound as well. It's not as loud as before.

There will be many trivial changes but we don't know for sure.
The pillion for me was always soft and comfortable. But yes, nothing major as claimed by some here! Cheers

As soon as i got back home that morning from work, I took a torch and looked at every nook and cranny but did not find any leakage of oil or coolant. Next I took a few drops of coolant out from the expansion tank (using a syringe+catheter) and put a couple of drops on the hot exhaust but there wasn't much smoke but a odor.. so i assumed it might just be dew/condensation or a bug getting barbecued
Headed to the svc at 9am and neither could they find anything out of place, like a coolant leak or oil leak. We left it at that and thought to observe for a couple of days.
I haven't noticed this happening again (my bike is fired up almost every morning at around 430am after sitting in the office parking overnight). And I have done around 7000km since that happened.
I am still wondering what could have caused that.. because I have used the bike at cooler places like Ooty, Munnar and did not notice such a behavior.. I did keep an eye on it for the next few days but never saw it happen again.
Interesting. We can call this a Feature

Of course! That's what you call personal preference. Some may find it hard, some soft. The topic here was about changes!

I only mentioned there is a change in the feel of the seat which is definitely noticeably according to the concerned person's question.
Took a poll as well and they said it's definitely more comfortable!

        Cheers!

Cat's piss! Well, I do have a cat/s sitting on the bike seat. I use a garage cover daily. I see paw marks almost regularly. And let's not talk about the smell

Been off the forum for a while, and this is what I come back to?! Lol. It's a strange world out there!!
Jokes apart, I'm planning to make some scrambler type mods to my ride. Has anyone done the same? Thing is, I want mods that I can change back without too much heartache.
Gonna change the front rim, going larger (19inch from 17inch) and spokes. Thinking of a 3 inch lift in the front, two at the back.
Anyone know where I can get some off size sprockets? Don't really need much top speed (in fact better off slowing her down with these mods) but would love to make my lower gears longer.

Also, I'm no hardcore greasemonkey, I'm just some guy who likes messing around and has the tools to do so. And the technicians. And doesn't mind trial and error.
So, everyone is invited to chip in, lets make something beautiful.
Ps. No, I don't want to spend too much money.
Pps. Should this be in another forum?
You can prise these keys out of my cold dead hands.
                Raleigh Steel-Body. 1945. (It's a bicycle. :D)
Kawasaki Bajaj Eliminator. 2001 (Ps. Just found her after she'd been lost for 7 years!! You may now go crazy.)
                KTM Duke 390. 2014
The essence of practically every love song/poem ever - I think you look fit, lets go out? Not hanky panky, I promise. Unless you want to.

What would be the source of the problem? Is it the suspension aging or is it a problem in the tail section?

                    Guys need a little help,
Yesterday came back from 1200 kms ride and today saw this oil thing on the right side of the engine, Should I be worried about something?
Is this normal? Haven't seen any engine oil leaking anywhere under the bike.

Will be taking it to the service centre tomorrow to find out the reason behind this.

That's as common as a baby crying
And this has been discussed a million times these very forum topics..
It's a minor leak from the valve cover gasket and is fixed by removing the valve cover and putting it back using a bit of gasket sealant. They should fix it for free, and don't let them apply that sealant from the outside without opening the valve cover.

First off any leak isn't normal, but this isn't a leak, strangely this is considered a weep by the KTM ASS. All else Sid mentioned, the thing requires removal of the head and replacing the head cover gasket. The thing is cheap though the job can easily take more than an hour as the fuel tank itself is required to be removed and then the head, considering you're the first one on the bay, it's mostly 1 to 2 hours worth job.

                          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                          THE END

It's just the valve cover gasket.. its not required to remove the head itself. Just remove the 4 bolts and pop the cover off.
The valve cover can be removed from under the tank on the dukes, I've had it removed twice..but again if the mechanic wants to do it by removing the tank for better access then so be it, and removing the tank is again just a matter of a few minutes. Should take less than an hour to get it fixed.

Went to the service centre to get the Bike washed and repair the broken seal, the mechanic removed the 4 bolts of the head and put Loctite sealant on the rubber seals from where the oil was seeping.

Till now it is holding good, will check after a ride in the coming days, if it again goes bust, will get the rubber sealed replaced.

Just completed 1 year on my RC390. time for insurance renewal.
Bajaj Allianz asking premium of 6K for zero dep policy whereas HDFC offering same for 4.5K...(IDV around 180,000) confused with which one to go as service centers has tie up with Bajaj Allianz and not with HDFC for cashless.

Did anyone has experience with HDFC insurance? are they good?
