I have a feeling that if we have 5A fuse anything more than 5A if transmitted from battery or alternator will blow up the fuse and keep our mobile device safety as 5A its safe zone for device.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Assuming that you have 5A fuse in the 12V lighter socket and you have directly connected it to battery terminals, if you put a load of 5A or more on this lighter socket, the current passing through the fuse will heat the fuse element due to which it melts and disconnects the circuit from the battery (not from the alternator). Less or more current on any other part of your vehicle circuits will not get affected by this. I use good Qualcomm certified quick chargers in 12V sockets like Aukey or Tronsmart, which comes with inbuilt fuse which protects the devices connected to it. These smart USB chargers also regulate correct amount of current that your device consumes so shorting your device if you use good charges are next to impossible. You would have to worry about it when you connect your device to USB port that is next to 12V socket as we are not sure how good their circuit is.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostCorrect me if i am wrong.

Was searching for a good paddock stand and bought it from Redline+. It stand had lot of defects and I had to send it back. Got a new one from 6kisleofman (Paid 3900Rs). The stand is really sturdy and we get both swing-arm spool holder and swing-arm holders. Their shop is in Kawasaki showroom after Marathahalli in OOR (Next to KTM Marathahalli).

Am Going to try make one myself with pipe bender I have.
Why do you still have that tyre hugger. It looks good from sides but ugly from back.
For my Leh trip am going to remove that plastic & use saree guard alone for holding Jerry can.
Or going to modify the tyre hugger's steel pipe to two sided Jerry can holders.

I like keeping the tyre hugger. Don't want to get dirt and muck on my back and rear seat. Also, those who are coming back of my vehicle will suffer as dirt will be thrown directly on their face, especially when it rains. This happened to me while riding back some Duke with out tyre hugger and I don't want to do that to anyone.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostAm Going to try make one myself with pipe bender I have.

When you plan to use the saree guard for holding jerry cans, remember to not put too much load on the rear suspension. the saree gaurd is prone to getting stuck with the rear footrest when the suspension goes down completely (possible when carrying a pillion over a pothole or speed breaker)Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostAm Going to try make one myself with pipe bender I have.

Yea. I know that. Am gonna have an 5L can in saree guards. If time & interest gives way I will be making an can holder for both sides for balancing.Originally posted by Hemant Singh View PostWhen you plan to use the saree guard for holding jerry cans, remember to not put too much load on the rear suspension. the saree gaurd is prone to getting stuck with the rear footrest when the suspension goes down completely (possible when carrying a pillion over a pothole or speed breaker)
And thanks for reminding me about saree guard hitting footrest. It didn't happen to me.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I used saddle bag to carry plastic Jerry cans. I have Rynox Stacker and was able to carry one 10L and one 5L can on one side. Jerry cans on saree guard did not work out for us as we tried on many other vehicles. There is nothing better than saddle bag as per experience.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostAm Going to try make one myself with pipe bender I have.

Halogen 55/60w don't go for 95/100w.Originally posted by judebrent View PostHey all, I know there have been mixed opinions about the bulb replacement, so would like to ask one last time before the change - Osram Nightbreakers Or Phillips Xtreme Vision? Thanks
There are 20w LED's with higher Lumens. Some 50 posts above this posted by Skanda
Or go for extra lights like this

Don't use the those lights! They consume lot of current and are bad at long range lighting and might wear the battery quickly. Even the temperature of those lights are not good, they are around 7000k and they are very bluish. After lot of trials and wasting money on so many aux lights, I find the Osrams led's are the best aux light that are available.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostHalogen 55/60w don't go for 95/100w.

D390 comes with good Osram Bilux bulb by default and NB or XV are not better by leaps and bounds compared to Bilux. You might not even notice the difference. Go for aux lights or nothing.Originally posted by judebrent View PostHey all, I know there have been mixed opinions about the bulb replacement, so would like to ask one last time before the change - Osram Nightbreakers Or Phillips Xtreme Vision? ) so I'm sure I won't be overloading them. By the way, I have changed the Fuse that comes with the charger to 15A and the accessory Fuse under the rear seat is still 10A. So I have two fuses to protect electrical components from getting overloaded.
