    Hello people.
Im pretty new to 200+ segment and confused between duke390 and Cbr250.
I like fared bikes. But there have been no mechanical upgrade to Cbr since launch and i fear its discontinuation anytime soon.
But duke390's power is exhilarating. Im not a fan of dukes exhaust note but slipper clutch, metz, abs and all of dukes package is very tempting.
My ride is mix of city and highway. Please help me choose.

cbr isnt an inline 4 . so rejecting a bike on just basis of exhaust note isnt rational..duke provides very sharp handling whereas cbr is very plush...decide what u want to have...

Both bikes are great, but if your running is majorly in city then I would recommend you to look for duke 200. Duke 390 is beast in power which can't utilise in city traffic.

Cbr 250r wont be discontinued dont worry
Cbr is smooth comfort bike and have less acceleration than duke 390
Dont miss tha abs in cbr, one of the best abs
All day on the saddle no prob

Duke 390 is extreme fast acceleration
You can easily tired by many factors of duke 390 - wind blast, foot peg position, slight vibes
In city you need to shift gears most of the time but thats not the case in cbr

Duke 390 is much more fun bike than cbr 250

If this bike is the only mode of transport, I would suggest cbr 250 not then duke 390

Since u own a 390 please clear some of my queries.
There have been niggles about the 390 like leaking head, broken rim, overheating in traffic, stalling. How many have you faced? Has it been rectified in 2016 edition?
My ride is 50-50 highway and city. I have ridden cbr and it felt like i will be bored pretty soon with the power it offers.
I don't own any motorcycle now so i mostly travel by car. I used to own a hero honda passion back in the days and moved directly to 4 wheeler. So it will be a huge jump. Although i have been riding 150s and 200s now and then. Courtesy friends.
But now i crave for my very own monster.

If ur riding involves a fair bit of b2b traffic , the duke is a big nono, the CBR's power only comes After 5000rpm and its more of a mid and top end bike. CBR will won't give any overheating issues, I'll say this from experience in all conditions. The 390 is a way more exciting bike but has a poor fuel range of 180-200 odd kms ,even lesser in the city, but if the city riding is not traffic oriented then u can go for the 390 no issues .

I have faced only the leaking head once and fixed easily. Since I ride 95% in NH I dont know about over heating. I think broken rims, stalling are fixed but ktm and my duke went over serious path holes and sharp edges at high speeds till now no probs in rims.
As you have a car and looking for a monster, duke 390 is the choice and you will have lot more power to use but in cbr if you are a speed monster than cbr power will not be enough for you.

Go for it, the issues you mentioned are long gone, even the late 2015 models have it all rectified. Vibes yeah, it will be there to a certain extent, but the power is a lot more than CBR, and going by your requirements, you'll be happy with it. I have an RC 390, which has been mostly okay. You might face a few niggles maybe (e.g.: rattling parts etc, but nothing that can't be fixed easily and very cheaply). If you're primarily looking for smoothness and linear power delivery, CBR would be the better choice, while the KTM will give you power, cheap maintenance, and Metzlers.

Hello people, today I've been riding in the rain and after stopping and starting my 390 i noticed that my instrument cluster stopped working, all the lights, blinkers and everything is working fine but the display was off, no lights or nothing. After about 20 seconds a line of numbers and letters appeared like a code and flashed for a second and everything came back to normal, after about 10 minutes the display switches off and switches on again, on doing that the time on the display resets to 1.00 it happened about 10 times, anyone here experienced this?
                            Please do reply,thanks!

It happened to me once when i had left the key in the bike, and the battery had drained. The Numbers and letters that appeared was the model number of your bike. Did it erratically flash on and off, and just fade out? If so, probably battery drain issue. If not, maybe some damage to the electronics, but I've ridden a lot in heavy rain and never had this issue. Either way, get it checked at SVC as soon as possible

                                Hi all,
                                I had a query...
Past few weeks I have noticed my bikes oil consumption has gone up. 150 ~200 ml per week around 340kms.
I had a word with the service guys even they did not have a convincing answer.
A few points before anyone can suggest
                                1) have covered 47500 Kms till date
                                2)no oil leakage from anywhere
                                3) no white or black smoke
                                4) pick up, performance dam good
                                5) FE has not changed 24km/ lt
                                6) bikes not overheating, coolant level is correct
                                7) no change in engine sound ( very smooth, no vibes at all)
So bottom line even all seems to be good just it's consuming oil
If any one has faced a similar issue kindly suggest
