I can vouch for the quality of Shell oils. Used it in my ZMR. Changed the performance & efficiency completely. Awesome oil. Will try it for sure in my D390 once I get my bike in Dec.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostIt also comes with 10W40 grade but confused whether to stick with stock or go with shell advance ultra 10W40 grade.

Though I've heard Motul is a bit better. Gives more performance but I think Shell gives more mileage. Basic funda is something like that.

I am worried about the grade 10W40 and stock motul uses 20W50 i.e thickness of the oil.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostI can vouch for the quality of Shell oils. Used it in my ZMR. No need to worry bro, you can use shell confidently. I have been using shell 10w40 for the past one year and am happy with it. It performance similar to motul but does not equal motul. Still, its totally vfm. Dont worry about the gradesOriginally posted by Chandan92 View PostI am worried about the grade 10W40 and stock motul uses 20W50 i.e thickness of the oil.

Glad to know that you're safe on the other side. There are only two possibilities, either your screw is broken and one half is lodged on the inside or the guard was loose itself. I probably reckon that during your slide, the screw broke into two and there must be a piece lodged inside the chassis, as it was dangling after the crash. If it were loose it would have vibrated crazy during the ride itself.Originally posted by Veeral View PostHad a small crash. Due to oil on the road bike slipped and slide for about 5-10 mtrs. Luckily i left the bike or else i would have been dragged with the bike. Got a small bruise on knee.
Hand guard & leg guard saved the bike from any other damage.
Suprisingly left leg guard came Off after the hit. Top nut came off and fell on the road. Leg guard was hanging as lower nut was loose after hit. Not sure if it f***d my internal threading or not.
You won't do damage to your internal threading, in cases the screw might be broken into two due to impact, with one half inside chassis. Check it it out, if that's the case, then you can remove it by drill.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
The svc mechanic here said that we have to lube the chain every 500 kms and tighten it every 1000 kms. Nothing said about cleaning the sprockets, and I would like to do this job at home because the last time I went for lubing, idiot sprayed motul all over my rear rim. My bike is barely 1500 kms old. I aint that much of a rider. Just short 30 km trips every now and then with friends to the summit of Singhad.Originally posted by rick_7428 View PostI use diluted turpentine(General Purpose Thinner) and old toothbrush for cleaning, just lube the chain the sprockets will get covered by it. The paddock does come in handy and requires lesser effort and time.
Even with timely lube and chain adjustment my stock chain sprocket set is showing signs of wear after clocking just 19k kms on ODO. Might be good for next 1000kms or so I guess.
How much did you guys get max out of the stock chain-set? I have heard some changing around 25k kms?
Is the chain slider required to be changed with the chain-sprocket Set?What do you call a biker who does not wear a helmet? An organ donor.

Lubes will get sprayed whatever precautions you take whether you use paddock stand or not and this will only make rear rim dirtier but your chain will be well lubed.Originally posted by rohangk View PostThe svc mechanic here said that we have to lube the chain every 500 kms and tighten it every 1000 kms. Clean the front sprocket only if there is lot of lube and dust accumulated over time. For short rides lavasa would be great experience and yeah cleaning and lubing is better when done at home, you can use newspaper for blocking the extra lube getting sprayed all over on rims.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello , hope you are doing well, i am planning to buy Duke 390, Can you please provide me more info about duke 390 like riding position, Seat comforts and other things which you like or dislike about duke 390. Please let me know this info.Originally posted by riot View PostMy 390 Experience:
Did 104kms on day 1 and havent got any time to ride her yet. So far I am in love with the ride. Took off the huge tyre hugger the very next day (That thing is heavy).
Now Overall it cant replace my Pulsar. I cant take 390 to crowded places like Pulsar and dont expect it to burn my legs or get unnecessary attention/scratches from people.
The 2.1Lac rupiya question was that can It Powerwheelie? Both yes and No. How? If you riding with a heavy pillion, whacking the throttle open in 1st gear will pop a powerwheelie. When you are riding single, it wont. Powerwheelie on 390 is much more fierce than my Pulsar (with mods). I'll be slotting in a Renthal 14T front sprocket soon. Should be fun after that
.
Handling is something I dont need to say anything about. I have already scraped footpegs many times.
I am now looking for a good Dual sport/Off-road Helmet for 390. The regular sport helmet doesnt suit the menacing look of 390. My RST helmet looks out of place on 390!

What would be the optimum tyre pressure required to be maintained for cornering? I am new to cornering and looking forward to short rides to lavasa for learning to lean the bike. I do wear all protective gears for safety.
