Very well, lucky indeed. Actually it isn't the internal threading, that's the bolt's thread itself. You can see in the middle, a wound of the thread was been sheared off. I'd suggest replace it with a new bolt and then see how it fares.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Y Today I went to fix the brake squeal from my front discs. I even asked them to wash off the excess lube sprayed on the rear rim and my frame. Went to KTM MARKETYARD, PUNE. To tell you the truth it is the greatest svc in pune yet. Correct me if I am wrong but I have heard that KTM BANER is very crowded( this was said to be the best ktm svc in pune, its like 40 kms from my house). The marketyard charged me 100 /-, for cleaning. They just cleaned the disc rotor, the dreaded squeal is gone for now.
When I came to pick up the bike, it was still being washed. Had a chat with the guy there. Just then a new duke 200 was being delivered. The sound was completely different. It sounded like an inline four. I asked the guy why the heck did it sound that way. The response I got was the usual BS. Its the stock sound, blah blah. Could someone please educate me on this. Has KTM started selling K&N filters? Can we replace the stock one before delivery?
Fortunately, my bike got ready at that moment. As soon as I accelerated. BAMM!! Rear wheel skid and I lost balance. My friend came to my aid and fortunately me and more importantly the bike got away with no harm done.
Guys be careful after you have washed the bike. Dont go WOT, the rear will skid. Bike has done 165x kms. Will post a review tonight.
And VJ even though you are a moderator, you still actively participate in all the discussions on this thread and many more. Nice to know that the mods on xbhp are this great.

Actually in your first photo, there is clearly a missed chip, if you'll look closely or at least that's how it appears to me. That thread chip you're referring to is either from a nut or a bolt, this above picture of yours has a missed chip, at least what I can see from it. Now, if you have both the bolts with perfectly fine threads, then it might be that you have a nut welded on the inside of the bolt insert point, back to the hole where the bolt goes it, it just might be that's nut's thread has come of. Just put your finger and see if there is anything welded on the back of the insert hole,if you feel there is a nut then that nut's thread is gone, if it isn't then your bolts thread have been sheared, even though they appear good.Originally posted by Veeral View PostHey VJ,

COOL. Will check tomorrow morning. But anyways I don't think I'll be goin for stock guard now. Might opt for Crash bobbin/fram sliders by Jcmoto. Or may be engine guard by GA engineering.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostActually in your first photo, there is clearly a missed chip, if you'll look closely or at least that's how it appears to me. Gaurav's stuffs are pretty much very good for the price. I'd definitely suggest GA Engineering.Originally posted by Veeral View PostCOOL. Will check tomorrow morning. I thought crash bobbins would be compact wherein engine guard might look nd feel bulky. What would be the beneficial ?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostGaurav's stuffs are pretty much very good for the price. I'd definitely suggest GA Engineering.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
So as I said last night I am nearing 1500 km on the odo and will do a review.
CAUTION-Long post ahead.
JULY 31st,2015-
A very happy day in my life. On this day I got a call from KTM Nalstop, Pune. My black beast was ready to be delivered. Me, my older brother and my father went to the showroom to take the bike. All the financial things were already done the day of the booking. It took about 20 days of misery for the showroom to call me as I had specifically asked for a black bike. Buying experience was satisfactory. One of the things that I found great was that they told me everything I needed to know about the bike. The guy I consulted with for the buy was named Praful. A big thanks to him. I could not ride the bike on the first day and the ride home was done by my father( due to family custom
). Me and my brother rode home on my dio and then came my father. I was the star of my society for a couple of days.
Our first date:-
The next day I could barely contain my excitement as I woke up and went down to ride her. And then, some frigging imbecile had vandalised my number plate. One half of it was lying on the ground, the other half still screwed on to my bike. I controlled my emotions and removed the number plate completely. I called my father down and he was furious. He gave me some money to go and get a new number plate fitted.
Anyway, this was still our first date. I got on and waited for my brother to come. I thought of taking her for a short spin. She came to life on the first crank and I rolled away in first gear.( Actually the bike did stall a couple of times but I ai"nt gonna mention that
). The first time I twisted that throttle, the entire society must have gotten aware that I was leaving. She literally screams for attention. The response I got from her was astonishing. The way she roared and screamed. I was in love. That throttle response. I was hanging on for dear life.
Now for the not so good part.
The vibes:- Now I know that some people may say that I am exaggerating and its a single cylinder, etc but man, I thought my frigging balls were gonna fall off.
The engine braking- My first post on this thread after getting the bike was how the heck do I protect my area. You let go of that throttle and BAM!!! It was like getting kicked in the nuts. No wait, it was not like getting kicked in the nuts, I was getting kicked in the nuts. And guys will know this, getting kicked in the place where god only meant to be treated nicely is like all your bones breaking at the same time.
My first service- I asked the svc manager to fix an appointment for me on the coming Sunday.( thats right I called two days ago) He said its done. I went there on Sunday morning and to my utter astonishment no record of my appointment. I did not expect this from KTM. When I shared my thoughts they said that they are very sorry about the mistake and offered me free chain lubing, tightening and a pressure wash. I was pretty content with the offer and was told that I would get the bike on Tuesday. Mondays are off for AADIVENOO Motors KTM. I went to pick up the bike on Monday. I had complained to them about the fogging console issue and they said that it would get fixed. But when I got there it was raining hard and these people had left my bike outside( I was thinking Are you f****** kidding me?) but didnt say anything as they apologised as soon as I got there. They offered me some tea which I refused. Waited there with a RC200 owner who had come to drop his bike off for first servicing. His gasket was blown already since he was a very enthusiastic track rider and drove like a madman.
Some rides with my friends to Singhad:-
The duke can smoke anything in sight, period. Be it rs200, rc200 or bullets. I even gave them a two minute head start, not on purpose. I still got there before them
This is all I have to say for now. Happy riding dukers. Touchwood, I have no major problems with my steed. What do you call a biker who does not wear a helmet? An organ donor.

Weird how come it came off during crash. I am dead sure it was not loose at that point of time. Anyways. It seems my bolt + nut is in ok condition. Soon will switch to aftermarket crash guard.
So chandan, now you riding without the guard ?Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

Sadly yes i have to. I will be fixing it this week, but i would advise you to check it regularly bolts of these leg guards, they tend to get loose. I have also considered GA engineering crash guard they are good and tough but are little bit on the heavier side although i am using GA engineering's paddock stand with adjustable spools which can be used in almost every bikes.Originally posted by Veeral View PostI just now tried fixing it back.... its done. Engine guard weighs approx 3kg. Will is quite a heavy i would say. That is the reason I am considering frame sliders/crash boobins. Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

You can use but i think stock crash guard provide adequate protection and if damaged can easily be replaceable without spending much.Originally posted by Veeral View PostYeah. Will keep an eye on it. I also have paddock from him. Good quality.
