too many questions i know, but that's the best way one can learn what was the exact part that gave up and how to fix it.
I will update you tomorrow .I ahve asked him to ask these questions to SVC.

Hello guys, its been absolutely fun to ride D390 till date. i have clocked 25k km in 23 months. lately i'm hearing some rubbing kind of noise from back section while i make a left/right turn. on straight road i never heard any sound. i think the bush in swing-arm need to be replaced. has anyone face the same problem.

Yup I get that but what is the actual interval . Is it 150 days or once annually ?

Three things, from what I summate possible problems could be.

          Check your wheel bearings
          Check your swing arm bearings.
Check your wheel alignment, chain tension and the chain runner pads if all these three are either misaligned or out of place, they do cause erratic noises.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

another area to look for will be the front wheel bearing and front axle.
when I rock the front end of the bike forward and backwards I don't get the loose feeling. I only get this feeling when I am leaning or breaking. I will visit asc and get them to have a look at the wheel bearing and front axle. Because of this problem i am not getting the kind of confidence i used to get. thanks for your reply though.

Guys has anyone tried filling their handlebars with silicone? Have read online it works well in reducing vibrations. I am thinking of doing it, I have a spare silicone gun at my place too. Its supposed to absorb the vibrations before they reach the grips. A hollow handlebar also can act as an amplifier for vibrations due to harmonics or something.

In other news, did a 2600km trip recently with a another 390 and Ive gained new respect for the machine. Sure, butts do get sore after 5+ hours on the saddle, but apart from that there is almost nothing stopping you munching miles effortlessly on the 390. A windscreen might help, however it'll only make a difference if your route involves a lot of highways. Was running Michelin Pilots front and back and they performed really well. One issue that developed with the other 390 was that its rear brake lever got really hard when we left from Goa, and by the time we reached Satara the brake locked. This happened thankfully right in front of the KTM showroom, which was conveniently on the highway itself. The staff was about to leave but got back in business as soon as they saw us roll in. Changed brake pads and everything was fine from then. The other snag also hit the other 390. One of the bolts holding the crash guard sheered off and the left side crash guard fell off in Pune. This 390 has completed 23k kms as compared to 13k on mine. Still the issues say something about the build quality. My friend also had developed some issues in his fuel pump and had to replace it, reason was bad fuel most likely.

My bike has been giving off a slapping sound off of the chain. I suspect its got something to do with the sprocket as the teeth on the rear sprocket look unusually shiny when compared to other bikes. Will get it checked tomorrow.

Attaching some pics of my journey. Route was:Nagpur-Hyderabad-Hampi-Goa-Pune-Nagpur

Went to svc today changed the front tyre. hats of to Metzler it gave 25 k km on front. i can easily get 1-2 k out of that but dont want to take risk on the upcoming road trip.
Neither he checked the wheel bearings, nor the swingarm bearings or the wheel alignment. He stick to his usual chain is dirty and loose hence the sound is coming. on break pad, he say that look at our padding it can go even long. I was like wth its 25 k km. A kid in front of me change his duke 200 rear break pad at 8k km and i ask him which track does he use .
The mechanic took a tst drive and says your racer need to be fixed . ek cheez ka problem ke liye leke jao aur wo ek naya nikal ke de deta hai . so now i have come backed with the chain tightening. Will clean and lube it myself. will do the road trip and again visit the svc.

                thanks for the info.

No problem, Anupam. Keep us updated on the issue, have this tightening solved your issue? Did you observe those sounds after riding from the SVC after the chain was tightened?

Slapping sound indicates your chain is either loose or the sprocket is nearing its life, also check your pad runners. And that bolt shear is common, yes, the bolt is good, but the vibrations and the vicinity near the engine take the toll eventually too much stress for the bolts, they simply shear off. You can get a good aftermarket bolt and see how it fares, it should hopefully stop, if it shears again, you know what to blame next time.

                    Cheers!

People usually say change engine oil every 5000-6000km , personally I'd say change it every 3000km to enhance the life of your engine. Also depends on your usage.

Well my daily usage is 60km approx. Sane80%/insane20% riding. Get Mileage around 24/L. Shall change the oil then and then next oil change would be during 2nd service.

I ride a CBR and I ride in very mixed conditions as u said 20 percent insane n 80 percent sane seems apt, but take the bike to a trusted mech, see if u getting a burnt smell from the oil or by the colour itself ull know, my advice jus check it n see, n if the colour is off n burnt, change it off, but do check it at every 3000km interval to keep ur engine in the best condition.

sorry for late update... my pirelli rosso 2 lasted only 7k with sane usage. in my view its not VFM and life lesser than metz. metz lives like a metz till its last, but rosso degrades a lot when nearing its life end. metz lasted 10 k for m IIRC.
had used mich 140 section before, but felt too uneasy, hence this time got a mich 150 section. lot of difference between 2. and i would say, mich 150 section is enough if ridden CAREFULLY. heard a new mrf tyre, but since i could not get any reliable review, chose mich.

my bike warranty is over. issues which were reported earlier are not yet corrected. svc knows, and planning to give bike again to get issued corrected next week, probably.

issues- speedometer intermittently 0. high coolant temp. grill grill sound when accelerating from left or left rear. engine noise abnormal.

these issues had been proactively done by svc,few parts replaced, but it crops up again and again. so next week, as warranty is over, they should be nailed and nothing billed. i might need to talk tough...
