Near tank cap key hole, all they say it's fibre body and will vibrate and it's present in every other duke.

In fact the 390s fuel cap itself doesn't not vibrate, but it's the fuel cap keyhole cap is the culprit here, that's the one that vibrates and causes that irritating sound. Encountering a similar situation, get yourself a neodymium magnetic rings, something like this, they come in different shapes and sizes, just stick it underneath the cap and it just sticks like glue and it automatically locks with just a small push (bragging rights) and never keeps the keyhole cover open even accidentally.

Never a single hum or vibe at any RPM, totally satisfied.

These are neodymium permanent magnets, when I last checked at Amazon India.

      Best of luck.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I bought it quite a while back, and it's sold out I guess, very pricey for a small magnet though. You have flat disc type, but it'd be great if you can pick something that has a hole in the middle, that way it sits flush inside the keyhole cover.

Bad luck, and that's why I mentioned last checked in Amazon. You can try any reputed electronic parts shops, they usually have these magnets.

          Cheers!

Hello Guys, Did a full Service today at 19k on ODO.
The following is the cost incurred for parts replaced :

            Motul 300V(15W50) 2Ltr- Rs.2300/-
Wanted to try this Oil, but didn't knew it would cost Rs.350/- more than 7100.( Price of Motul 7100 is Rs.805 as of today)
Took home 1/2 litre, they don't have 1.5Ltr packing for 300v.

            Chain Sprocket Kit- Rs.2704/-
            Labour for Chain-Kit replacement- Rs.150/-

Drum Rubber 6 nos- Rs288/-( Rs.48 per piece)
Old Rubber had play in it may be due to wear.

            Air Filter- Rs.286/-

            Fuel Filter -Rs.100/-

            Oil Filter - Rs.74/-

            Clutch Cable- Rs.143/-
Kept the Old Clutch Cable with me as a spare, it is still in decent condition.

All parts are Ktm Original Spares.

            Washing,Polishing & Mild Lubing- Rs100/-
The chain was pre-lubed being new so didn't require much lubing.

Labour Charges for Rest of the Servicing Rs. 350/-
also includes cleaning fuel pump and throttle body, Cleaning Brake system, Roughening the surface of Brake Pads, etc. They have different kind of Cleaning Sprays("Wurth" Company Named) for particular part of bike.

            Total Cost - Rs.6535/-

I got it serviced at Skyline Auto Solutions, Karvenagar, Pune. Apparently these guys are from Wakdewadi Ktm SVC which got shut down 2 months ago.
They have all the tech, facilities required for servicing High End sports bike. Saw the ZX10R with RaceFit exhaust there.. it growls like a Monster !!
Saw a R3 for the first time in Pune, it had come for R&G Kit Upgrade.

Now after riding my 390 for about 50kms post servicing the bike feels like the first time i brought it out from showroom, changing sprocket kit does wonders ! The vibrations & noises are still there but the engine is behaving quite subtle in low gears so that's great.

The rear tyre is due for change in 1-2k kms. My current rear metz tyre has lost all its tread in middle part while it has more than 50% life around 3rd & 4th marking, is it the same with others?
Or is this due to me not being a cornering guy... If that's the case should i switch to Michelin Pilot Street Radial tyre which costs Rs.5100/- because i would hate wasting the metz rubber for not putting it to real use.

Anyone using Pilot Street please share some experience compared to Metzelers.

Thanks for the info mate. But even if I lift the keyhole cap. It still makes humming sound. So not sure if its from the keyhole cap. But When I press hard on whole cap its stops making noise. So its definitely grom the cap. After I leave the cap it starts making noise again. Will try to source the magnet.

Hard luck. Just see, if you can arrest the noises with this magnet, if it works, as it did for me, you might have luck on your side, but do keep us posted on the results.

My stand unfortunately has bent a little bit. Me and my friend took it to his college and accidentally double parked. The watchman tried to move and bam it bent a little. I am still not completely sure if its bent but I can notice it a little bit. And another question, is the 390 stand already a little bent? I saw a 200 and it wasnt as bent as mine was.

A pic would give more clearer idea whether its bent or not !

As far as I know, from what I've seen, both the 390's and 200s stand is quite a solid piece and it has a slight bend in the middle to aid in weight distribution on the left side of the bike, as opposed to straight up, which can make the bike unstable with certain road conditions.

The stator coil on the bike might be burnt because of which it is not recharging the battery while in motion. Stator coil will be replaced under warranty. This is a known issue with both the D200 and the D390.

Happened with ppl using add-on leds and even dual horns. The Duke 390's battery is already at a very high load. That's why it's got random starting issues. It's not some 200cc pulsar or karizma. It's a pure performance machine. The battery can't take much load if things are installed without a relay or a switch.

                              There could be two scenarios-
                              1. If not even push start can be done- Should be a stator coil burn. Changing it and recharging battery should solve the problem,
                              2. Push start can be done- Then battery charge is low. Recharge/Replace battery and see if the charging mechanism is okay.

hope he had sufficient fuel in the tank!
Does the console show any warning ?
Does the starter motor make an attempt to crank ? Do you hear the engine cranking when the starter is thumbed ?
First place to start off is by checking the fuses (located in a tiny black box under the pillion seat which also has a set of spare fuses)
