Bought the bike today after a month's wait. Phew!
Did the pdi. Checked VIN No. Got a Nov 24, 2015 bike.[emoji4] Initial impressions are very gud. Fit and finish is excellent. Riding and handling are top notch. Love it. Slipper clutch is very light. No problem at all.
& lastly, it's pretty smooothh. [emoji4] My test bike RC 390 had horrible vibrations maybe bcoz it was ridden that way by customers & bcoz of low maintenance. Also, the reason maybe that it has a fairing. But, my Duke 390 doesn't have any vibes at all. It's wayy better than the test bike.[emoji106] [emoji4]

Well in my city Guwahati (tier-2) or any showroom which doesn't stock bikes, it takes 1 month for Duke/RC 390 to arrive from the date of booking. However, Duke 200 is available readily if ur lucky. As Duke 200 sells more than its bigger counterparts dealers stock extra bikes in their godowns. I did my booking on Nov 15, 2015 and got the delivery today on Dec 16, 2015. Though I got the call yesterday. But, on the flipside I got the latest Nov 24, 2015 manufactured bike.[emoji4] However, in metros and other cities with bigger showrooms, you can get Dukes and RCs readily.
Now, coming to the bike. I did a rather long 45-50 km long TR on an RC 390 in October. That bike had bad vibrations. Rest everything was ok. I was quite apprehensive that my bike will also turn out to be a very rough ride. But, all doubts have been cleared today.[emoji5] Bike is very smooth. And Fit and finish is really very good. I'd recommend anyone to buy this beast.

Hey jack...thanks for the prompt reply ...

I plan to buy a duke 390 myself...
It's just that I have read somewhere that there might be a 2016 version which is ride by wire ..so I am waiting for that ..not too sure about it though ..

So tell me is it worth the wait , or should I just go ahead and book one now ????

No ride by wire for duke. If you need a bike right now, Buy it right now.

See, 2016 version will be showcased in late 2016 and launch will be in 2017. If u can wait that much then wait. But, my suggestion is just go and buy it now itself since it's quite a long time from now. Maybe u could wait if it was a matter of 3-4 months! Also, the changes aren't radical. They are just cosmetic. Engine, etc will remain the same.

P.S.- Believe me I was also worried about the hooliganism of KTM before this coming from a Hero ZMR. But, trust me Duke 390 is a really good bike. Only thing that I found a bit unplaced which I've already mastered in a day (probably due to the racy characteristics)-
                1. U'll need prior experience for this bike. It is a bit unforgiving. If ur in the wrong gear then the bike will shut off and shut off really badly giving a bad jerk. It's a PITA. But, I've quite mastered it in a day. Also, the engine braking is really strong in any gear. So, I'd recommend a year or two of biking experience before going for this one. But, the things I mentioned are nothing to be worried about.
                2. Lacks the planted feel of ZMR, bullets on long highways. But, obviously that's a trademark of cruisers and this is not meant to be one. If you want to cruise, buy a Harley.
But, that said don't forget KTM is going to race in Motogp from next season onwards! [emoji5]

Btw ANYBODY GOT THE OWNER' S MANUAL? Pls post it here.

Good to see that you have also picked up some safety gear. Enjoy the ride and ride responsibly!

Jv promoto guys are quoting 9.5k for MRA windscreen. Anybody bought the windscreen recently? I thought it was more like 7k. Are they charging more?

sir I have driven duke 200 ns fz gixxer all suffer from light slight unsettled front end especially on highways....but I thought lack of power was one of its reason but hearing that mad 390 too feels like it...is it with all nakeds even the bigger ones like 600i z800....

No. It's basically bcoz of the weight. Ktm's are lightweight vis-a-vis Bullets, CBRs and ZMRs. But, that said Duke 390 is actually not that much lighter than the ZMR. But, I think stability also depends on the fairing as it makes the bike more stable.
Also, bigger bikes like Z800, 600i, Striple shouldn't suffer from this problem as they are much heavier at 190kgs+!

Though Xbhp review says this is a safety feature and not to panic just want to be safe.
Happy to report that I didn't face the issue again. I think it is a bad idea to switch off engine in stop-go traffic.

This bike needs a better cooling system designed for our specific conditions.

Double sided tape where ? Those buggers just give solutions rather fixing it.
