That B2B traffic is what irritates me the most. So the solution is either get out by 8:30 or take the 10 year old bike that is constantly hovering over being adventurous and unstable. Although I miss the fun of 390 but it is actually better for the all of us (duke, my pocket and mother earth)
    For Delhi-Noida traffic, I don't think if a 200 is also a good choice. I would rather ride a 150 or a cycle

The headlight does not affect mileage in any way and when the engine is on, it can provide way more power even to charge power banks and aux lights along with headlight. It's more to do with battery & generator and nothing related to mileage.
I thought since now the engine has to run a 55W halogen throughout the ride, it could impact the mileage. Nevertheless, I won't entirely blame the bulb. It is always the stop and go traffic that spoils the mood and the mileage.

Have any of you tried heavier bar-ends?

            Hello everyone,

I've been a close follower of this thread since 2 years now and finally decided to learn from and provide to the community! I've learnt so much from all of you in this thread!

            Alright then,
I owned a 2015 Duke 390 for 10 months after which I gave it to my brother. Traveled by car and just couldn't bear the Bangalore traffic and boredom :P

            So i picked up a 2016 Duke 390

Now, I've got two issues that I'd like some advice on. First,My older 2015 390's fuel gauge used to update the fuel filled as soon as I switched on the kill switch. However, In the 2016 version, it comes up slowly. Is that a feature? Or is mine defective. I've not been able to look at other 390's.

Second, My 2016 390 was knocked down by a cab a week back when it was reversing . Thankfully the fall was cushioned by the Mud and side stand. But now I feel the radiator fan kicks in late.

For example, If i switch off the engine while the fan is running, the heat bar increases by +1. Earlier if I started the bike immediately, the radiator fan would kick in after a second or so, but now its takes close to 5-6 seconds when the heat bar is at +1 or even +2. What could be the issue?

            Thanks

Ya, same thing happened with my bike too. Fuel gauge takes 200-300m after fueling to fully update. & yes, initially, radiator used to run all the time. Maybe due to new engine with all the metal shreds inside and lugging (Wrong gear @ wrong speed). But, now as the engine has become smoother and I've learned to be @ the right gear @ the right speed, heating has reduced considerably and radiator fan hardly kicks in.
I think your bike is perfectly alright. In fact, I'd say it's the sign that your bike is normal.[emoji16] [emoji16]

That's such a relief! So the fuel updating later is a new feature i guess.

About the heating, you're right. This one hardly heats compared to the old 2015 models. I've personally noticed it.

But what about the radiator fan kicking in late after a hot start when the temp bar is above normal? Is that acceptable?

Found these two while searching for heavier bar-ends.

Slavens Racing | Progressive Handlebar Dampening System (PHDS) by Xtrig for KTM, Husaberg, Husqvarna, Beta

                  Fasstco KTM Anti-Vibration Bar Inserts | KTMtwins.com

                  Any input?

I own a late 2014 duke , and after fueling up (especially when its down to the reserve) it does take a minute or so (or a couple of toggles of the ignition to on/off) for it to register the correct reading. I've seen this on the 390's too. It's perfectly normal.

As for the radiator fan, if you want to be 100% sure, take the bike to the svc and have them connect their diagnostic tool and check at what temperature the fan kicks in. The fan is supposed to come on at a set temperature (iirc it was 86 or 89 C on the 200, and remember its the temperature of the coolant not 'engine' that triggers the fan.. this reading is picked up by the coolant temp sensor.) and your svc can check that for you. This was checked and shown to me during the delivery of my bike.

And btw, i do notice a similar behavior of the temp guage/fan on my 200 as well. It's best you try and avoid switching off the engine when the fan is running.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel much better now! I'll head to the svc this weekend.

Mine is 2013 model and it too takes a 30-40 secs to fill up all fuel bars.

                          Hey Guys,
Bought myself the 390 Duke last week after months of research and a test ride. (Decision was tough as CBR 250 was one of the contenders)

Today I opened the pillion seat and observed that the bolts underneath look different. Also one of the battery terminals sheath looks improperly/shoddily covered. I have a strong feeling that the battery has been tampered with or it has been replaced. The make is Amaron (8Ah).

Can someone please confirm if this is the battery I should be getting or there's something wrong.

Could you send us a few pictures? I think all the Dukes come factory installed with Exide's.

Looking at customising a 2013 Duke 390 like the following photos in regards to only the seat and the tank. Keeping costs minimal.
The idea is to make it more touring friendly (with a pillion+ luggage)
im pretty new to KTM's - so a bit confused. My questions are about the Electric pumps etc inside the tank and the fuel coolant that is on the right side. How do we manage all of that.

Ive been riding a 1986 Royal Enfield 350 for 11 year snow. am not used to technology!! Any serious riders care to comment about the +ves and -ves etc- and the doability of this project.
