Noticed that coolant is reducing and had a case of oil leaking. Getting the head gasket and water pump checked today. Anything else to take care of?
Those are the two prime requisites. Apart from these two, it all comes down to how well the work is performed on the bike, if diagnosed with the disease. Do keep your observations jotted.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Do these get covered under warranty of 2 years that's there for engine?
I left the bike at KTM Banashankari today and asked them to cover this under warranty. 2 years will complete on 25th of this month and if it is covered under warranty, would be lucky that it happened now. Odo was 13200kms. Happened to notice that even the Air Filter box was cracked.
Everything that I had read in this forum has been immensely helpful and was able to identify the issue and solution easily.

Should be done under warranty. Labor and hard parts would be covered.
you might though have to pay for the fluids i.e. oil and coolant.
make sure the job card is opened and you put in your comments on it. dont give them a chance to make you pay for it (they might drag it around till warranty expires and then ask you to replace a bunch of stuff charging it to you)

If changing the coolent then in some cases they charge the customer for motul motocool and use the motul Inguel. Note it.

Thanks! Have got everything on the job card. Im also calling up and seeking updates daily. They suggested to ride with the current engine oil but I told them to change it. They have already started their work and told it might take 2 or 3 days to get it done.
Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Got the bike today. Friend collected it on behalf of me. Technician told that only the pump seals were the culprit and head gasket was perfect. Even the compression test came out to be perfect and therefore replacing gasket was not necessary. The oil pump seals and engine oil were replaced as oil and coolant had mixed together.

Good job! A timely intervention has in fact saved much cumbersome labor later. Were you able to inspect the color of the engine oil, post drain? Nonetheless, keep at tab on the engine oil level and the coolant level for a few weeks, and keep your observations posted.
Cheers!

The color was blackish and looked like it was mixed with coolant. Will sure keep an eye on coolant level and oil level. I check them every week/bi-weekly which is why I was able to identify the vanishing of coolant quite early. Will update the thread if I find any further issues as well.
Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Went for small ride today and everything looked fine. There was white smoke coming above the exhaust manifold and got it checked. It was due to polish evaporating and it stopped after riding for about 15mins. The bike has become super smooth after the engine oil and spark plug change. The last oil had coolant in it and the bike had become harsh.
Was charged only for engine oil, oil filter and spark plug. Got the oil sight glass which costed 46Rs.
Got the EBC HH brake pads fitted for front and what a world of difference it makes. Just Wow! Highly recommended. Hope the bite won't degrade later.

Recently I installed a motorcycle usb charger.I directly connected it to the battery.charger is working awesome but when I switch off the bike.chartering station is still on.
Would the battery drain if charger is still on without anything plugged in ??
I installed it yesterday ,morning bike was running.I hope it stays good

Instead, connect the charger to the ACC (accessory) port which is inside the headlamp cluster. This way the charger switches on only when the ignition is turned on.
