After riding some 400Kms it's in between minimum and maximum now.

Visited service center today and he told it's common in 390 and during summer, for coolant to drop such levels I have explained above. He told it's just about 20 to 30 ml coolant drop per 400-500Kms and totally fine. Engine oil was changed at 13,300Kms as well. The sight glass is clear, oil looks dark Reddish, no milkiness, no bubbles, nothing. The current coolant level was marked, and trip was set to 0. He told to track the coolant drop and Kms ridden this time and only if it is by a huge margin, to replace head gasket. They were clearly hesitant to replace it now and advised not to simply get the engine removed as this very normal and not an issue.

Would this be OK? Is there anything I have to worry about? Or should I insist them to replace the gasket now? Is 20 to 30 ml of drop during summer is real?

Also, I dropped the idea of performance head gasket as it will increase already high compression engine to a full point.
The mechanic seems to have give you sensible advice. Keep an eye on the coolant level and the oil color for the next few 100km.
Usually during a drain and refill, the coolant doesn't get filled up to capacity and after a few km its normal to see a drop and requires a top up.. this top up routine might be required around twice (on a new or a bike that had coolant drained and refilled). But after that you will most probably only be seeing a fluctuation in the level (goes down and up by a little) and that is normal. If you see it only going down, then there is an issue... which could be due to the water pump seals or the head gasket.
Do you notice any white smoke from exhaust ?
Before you touch the head gasket, double check that it's not the water pump seals (which are cheaper and easier to replace).. there is no guarantee that the previous repair job held up.

I saw that it was available on amazon for a similar price a few days ago, but now it's vanished.. and am not able to buy it locally.
Let me wait a few days and see if i can source one locally, or I am going to request you to send me one over and i'll pay for it

Great! If I see it happening again, I will get the pump seals replaced probably at a different place and then test it similarly before reaching for head gasket.

Considering summer has started to show its ugly head, and with the temperatures soaring, it's normal to see some amount of oil and coolant level drop, especially motorcycles. This effect is more pronounced in air cooled engines, where oil levels can reduce to low levels if not kept tab. Secondly, the mechanic's advice seem sound and you can give it just a few more kms and observe if the coolant drop is significant. If yes, then consider a repair job.

Secondly, yes, thin head gaskets reduce the tolerance between the cylinder and the head, which in turn makes the clearances even more tight, and as you said a mild increase in compression ratio. And with temperatures soaring, metals expand and contract, so we don't want tolerances that go off whack.

              Cheers!

It is a very reliable portal. I've purchased a few items and they were delivered on time. Far better than 99RPM anyday. Go ahead.

                    Hello friends.

I have decided to buy duke 390 couple of days back & seen some bikes.
I have 2 good bike in my eye now. 1 with slipper clutch model & the other w/o (old version)

Both have come to same final price.

I have a small query. I thought of picking up slipper clutch model thinking all benefits it have but I could hear notice from valve bit higher.

Bike has been serviced @ 18k kms now it has covered 21k.

Can anyone help me to understand what could be the cause & how much it may cost me if in worst case I may have to replace it?

I want to finalize & pick up bike tomorrow morning.

Given the odds, I'd recommend you get the slipper clutch version, definitely more VFM. The valve noises that you observe might be related to valve clearances. Get the service history of the bike from both the bikes, get their valve clearances checked and replace the shims if necessary.

                      Cheers!

The 2017 duke 200 has softer front suspension, is it possible to fit the 200's fork springs on the 390?

The 2017 Dukes have open cartridge type forks, so spring interchangeability is a doubt. Though, pre 2017 models all have the same fork springs, 200 and 390 both have the same forks, so they are absolutely interchangeable. If you need to stiffen the suspension of your 2017, try adding 10 to 20 ML more oil so that it stiffens mildly.

                          Cheers!

I want to get that softer suspension of duke 200 on my old 2014 duke 390. I recently bought the 2018 white 390 and was going to sell off my old bike but I just can't seem to let it go. So I'm keeping both bikes.

My old 390 is at 89k and it's still goes as ballistic as it did when it was brand new.
I've done a lots of mods to my 2014 390... Powertronic ecu and all. Still looking for a custom fuel map to make the power delivery and fueling smoother at lower revs. So I'm thinking of ironing out some of the stuff i want sorted out. Mainly the fueling and stiff suspension. Any help would be highly appreciated.

                                Hello friends,
The one with slipper clutch model had some document issue so I picked up the other one.

Bike has run 15k kms in 3years.
Last owner as changed Tyree's to MRF which lacks feedback according to my experience in couple of days. Will run it till it last.

Any suggestions to keep engine happy for long lasting.

Regarding ABC - ABS indicator keeps on when engine gets started but once bike moves it's gets off. Is this the way it suppose to work.

                                Plz give me some clarity.
