the sounds goes off by itself after 10, 20 seconds...any idea?

      1. Front brakes loose 90 % bite. They just felt useless
      2. Rear was somewhat better
      3. Only thing to save u from crash is slow speed n engine braking. Which seemed to be a big boon yesterday.
      4. If i left engine at idling it just stopped at every single time. And bike wont start.
Bike started only after i gave some throttle while cranking.
Other than these issues this is an awesome bike for its value.

Front brakes loosing bite is due to water, and is normal on any bike. You can try grabbing the brakes for a short while, and then release and re apply the brakes. The pads need to be heated up properly for optimum braking. Should ride slow in rains.

dude that sound you are talking about is completely normal as the bike is equipped with cat-con which makes sound while cooling as the substrate is metallic for car the substrate will be ceramic that's why we wont get any sounds from car after stopping the engine

2.for chain lube i would recommend the motul chain lube or castrol
I can put any Signatures :P

Give us more info on the time of occurrence, its frequency etc. Gourav (Dukedey) had something similar and was due to the exhaust touching the engine. The whole exhaust was replaced on warranty and the issue was fixed.
If you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.

The front brakes being discs should not lose bite if its not oil or some other lubricating fluid that was spilled on the discs. Water has almost no effect on braking abilities of a disc set-up.

Update- Guys with 2013 390's can go and get their tail piece underside replaced(warranty replacement). The new part is much more flexible and would prevent it from breaking when you go over pot-holed roads at high speeds. I got mine replaced during a routine check-up.

              Fellow Duke 390 Riders,

I have ridden my bike for over 1300 Kms. After first service, and riding for 200 Odd kms, I started hearing Kat Kat Feel from the front part when braking. This was not there before. I tried testing on high speed and low speed but that feel is very much same. When I hit the brake (Front), there is the feel of 'Kadak' and handle feels that with little movement towards front then brake applies. I have no real idea how to explain the issue in much better way but its surely was not there before. I tried switching Off ABS but its still same. Please advice.

i think that problem is because of coneset.Align the coneset first and see if the sound is gone..or else you need to replace it.

This issue has more or less been there since about the 2nd month of use. I got the bike early November 13. Another problem which has cropped up in the last 3 weeks is that the bike keeps switching off (quite often infact this last month). This happens mostly between 1st and 2nd gear, but has also happened b/w 3rd and 4th (when the clutch is engaged). According to Ranjan (the SCV manager) this issue has been there in 3-4 bikes at his center and that they have devised a fix around "clearances between the intake outtake valves and the engine" (sorry if that doesn't make sense, that's what I could understand from what he said, I'm just started learning about my bike :P).

He says he has spoken to company reps and they have it under observation and are waiting for the customers whom they've implemented the fix on to give feedback. This problem I think is only in the 2013 bikes, and should not be there in the 2014 bikes.
Axehacks, thanks for posting the above quoted !! I too face the problem where my bike goes off while riding, mostly while changing gears... I thought my bike was faulty.. I'm from Bombay, btw .... Do you know/have read any others facing the same problem in person, or on xbhp.com ? We should collectively send in the problems we're facing

Does anybody have a rear tire huger for D200/D390 in Bangalore which is lying around and dont mind giving it?
If you still need this send me a PM. I live in South Bangalore near Bannerghatta Road.
I have the one I took off my D200. You may have to get a set of the hex screws to install it.

Hi I would like to know what suspension settings are used and if we can adjust the rear shocks ourselves or need to visit the service centre? I would like to know if we require any particular tools in that regard. I would also like to know where I can get shorty levers in bangalore for the duke 390.
                                Thanks
