Hey guys, I'm contemplating on putting a windscreen on my 390 , I understand that the Szrs and the Fazers seems to be the popular choice.
Could the guys who've installed them, provide inputs on which in more suitable and pointers if any regarding the installation?
Thanks

21 is definitely less. I rode 1400 kms and I am getting consistently around 30+ kmpl. Be gentle on throttle while riding. Switch the bike off on long lasting traffic signals, double check the tire pressure and keep 2+ or 2- depending upon climate you stay in. Do a sane riding for a week and see the difference.
I have ridden around 5k kms and in city am getting a mileage of 23kmpl. On highways, riding for extended period, easily gives me more than 30kmpl. I think that a mileage of 21 is ok. Try changing your petrol bunk, maybe the fuel is not up-to mark. By the way, which fuel are you using premium or normal?
The fuel efficiency also ends up depending on how you run-in your bike. Mine now returns 25kmpl in sunday rides when I am popping wheelies and enjoying duke the way it is to be enjoyed and trying to keep up with my buddies on bikes with 3 times bigger engines. On all other days I get 30kmpl+ all the time.
I have done some 3200+ kms. I am most of the time gentle on throttle in city limits and occasionally rip. I use normal fuel from Indian Oil. Runnin was pretty much done as per the book.
You guys are definitely getting good mileage, as on highway also i was never able to exceed 27 kmpl on 110+ speed.
Because of this low mileage I am not able to completely enjoy duke as the way it should be enjoyed.

I think the kind of mileage for the give speed you are doing, you should be enjoying the duke the way it should be.

Man your 375cc bike is giving 27 km/L and you are crying
My 150cc fz returns 33-35 km/L and I enjoy that to the fullest.
For better mileage, there are smaller bikes. Be happy that you are still getting 27 km/L.
Guys any update regarding quality of the latest batch of the 390.
And also the stalling issues , have they been sorted out or people got used to it.

The new batch are devoid of problems that the initial batches had. Get a 2014 model and you are guaranteed to have a better bike. As far as the stalling issue goes, I have been in constant touch with ktm engineer on the issue and till now a solution has not been found for my bike. Although, if you are getting a new bike, you should not be worried.
You cant expect to get more than 25 to 30km/L with a single cylinder 44ps screamer. The fact that most of us 390 owners are from Pulsar or similar bike background it's a bit shocking for us to see this kind of mileage. This is a recreational bike. People talk about vibes on bike, again it's expected in a powerful single cylinder, and i find it a bit weird when people fix windshields on a naked bike. My 2 cents, ofcourse each person has his/her own way of thinking. cheers.
For the first time today rode pillion on my bike and I didn't like it one bit. Legs are severely cramped and I am just 5 7". The ride was for hardly 1km ~5mins and my butt started paining. And I almost fell off the bike when my colleague twisted the throttle!
Pillion friendly? Not for sure!
A lone amateur built the ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic...
Not sure if this info is shared here but if anyone is looking for how to verify if the new 390 is manufactured in 2014 or not, simply look at the chassis number.
If the character at the eighth position from right is D then it is 2013 model, if it is E then it is 2014.

Regarding the Stalling issue.
One of the guy in Hyderabad could identify that it was because of Clutch cable length varying. They have adjusted the clutch cable a bit it appears to have resolved the issue.
I had an FZ16 earlier (everyone knows how puncture prone those tyres are). Like a lot of people, I didn't know a lot about tubeless tyre punctures. I thought there was only 1 way to get it fixed and after around 8 punctures in 6 months, the tyre started to crack and I had to replace the tyre even though the threads were nice. The tyre had run only about 9K kms.
When I went to change the tyre, the owner of the shop explained me that the 1st method of fixing the puncture actually makes the hole larger and puts more stress on the tyre. He then explained about the alternative second method and how safe it is.
After changing the tyre, I used only the second method to get the puncture fixed and the tyre gave me a life of 22K kms and this is after around 1.5yrs and 16 punctures.
I'm just sharing my experience and how you want to get it done is your wish.
Also note that if the puncture is not done properly i.e. if the hole is not sealed completely in the 1st method (bound to happen many times), you'll start losing air. Again, this is a personal experience.

Sealing from inside is better for sure.
But what's bothering me is the huge number of punctures we gets in India. It's very strange how this much sharp metal objects reach the road.
Puncture shops per km is more in my current place so is the number of punctures.
When I was in another place both were far less.
We need to terminate the roadside puncture shop culture if we wanna save the rubber.
