I got my Duke 390 in December last year. It's a bike that I have always dreamed of having, considering its weight, manoeuverability, power and build quality.
Everything works as expected. The only issue that I have with the bike is the rear brake pedal - it should have been larger (the part which one presses on)
and one can miss it in a hurry. Am I the only one with this complaint?

i dont seem to have an issue with pedal length ... only problem regarding rear pedal is it is placed bit higher above than foot rest because of this i cant keep my feet comfortable all the time !

Back from a 1200+ kms, 3 days trip from Bangalore to Rameshwaram.

          • Handles brilliantly at higher speeds. Inspires "wheels on rails" feeling.
          • Ride is way more mature than my earlier bike, the Yamaha R15.
          • The bike pulls effortlessly till about 150 kmph. (If you can hang on to your seat, that is!)
          • At 100 kmph in 6th gear, the engine just spins on lazily at around 5.5k rpm without any stress whatsoever.
          • However, wind-blast plays spoilsports at speeds above 100 kmph. R15 is much better in this respect.
          • The ergonomics are spot on. No cramps anywhere. Only parts strained are the shoulders and the wrists. That came from fighting the wind blasts.
          • All in all, the most glaring shortcoming of the Duke? It has got to be the absence of the windshield.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Hi Rick, I faced the same issue too and expressed the problem in this forum. Help came in the way of a modified rear brake lever by Maverick, suggested by Sandeep. Now it is slightly lower than the footrest. So riding is very comfortable now.

This link has approximate prices of spare parts:
Ktm duke spare parts, power and performance parts cost in India - MaDrives | MaDrives

Ninja spares are significantly more expensive than Duke parts: 5-10 times more expensive. Also ninja spares are not as easily available like the duke.

A lot of the parts are shared or have similar pricing.

Got a Confirm quote from KTM Noida svc that both the Tyres will come at a total price of around 16500 inclusive tax and all. Rear one is some 8500.

Guys just want to check here the mileage you people are getting. I am getting a merely 21 kmpl under normal riding conditions in city, not riping or heavy traffic, tyre pressure and chain slack is normal.

I was expecting a mileage of around 25 kmpl but 21 is guess to less.

21 is definitely less. I rode 1400 kms and I am getting consistently around 30+ kmpl. Be gentle on throttle while riding. Switch the bike off on long lasting traffic signals, double check the tire pressure and keep 2+ or 2- depending upon climate you stay in. Do a sane riding for a week and see the difference.

I have ridden around 5k kms and in city am getting a mileage of 23kmpl. On highways, riding for extended period, easily gives me more than 30kmpl. I think that a mileage of 21 is ok. Try changing your petrol bunk, maybe the fuel is not up-to mark. By the way, which fuel are you using premium or normal?

The fuel efficiency also ends up depending on how you run-in your bike. Mine now returns 25kmpl in sunday rides when I am popping wheelies and enjoying duke the way it is to be enjoyed and trying to keep up with my buddies on bikes with 3 times bigger engines. On all other days I get 30kmpl+ all the time.

Hey guys, I'm contemplating on putting a windscreen on my 390 , I understand that the Szrs and the Fazers seems to be the popular choice.
Could the guys who've installed them, provide inputs on which in more suitable and pointers if any regarding the installation?

                                Thanks
