Great pics mate.Originally posted by Adarsh_Bk View Post@AmitRavi07 & @timuseravan, thanks guys. Will be taking it to SVC tomo to get the numbering done (reg not yet complete
)and will also get the coolant and chain checked. And I am not worried about mileage and not expecting high figures either, just wanted to know if it was normal
Filled Speed97 petrol from BP today evening and that almost solves the engine knocking problem completely! Was really surprised at the improvement but it costs 104bucks/litre
Btw, few pics from today's ride, sorry for posting so many
At Kendatti lake..

Never been to this lake, could you tell me where is it? Is this after the Coffee Day, on the way to Kolar?
+ is that a Quary or a lake?Last edited by Sal; 02-28-2014, 10:41 AM.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

On RTR I used to ride on these off roads without any worry, now I ride at 1st gear in less than 10kmph speeds
Cant wait for the run-in to finish now
Sorry, might have been a network issue.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have a question for people who've been to a track day before. How does the event actually work? Do you have to pay anything for the registration? So far the event guys have not mentioned anything about any costs. How long does the thing last?Trackday at BIC, Noida on March 16. Woo!
Also how many laps do you guys think they'll let us take

Absolutely this. I rarely take on 6th below a hundred. Maybe 90 if I'm in cruise mode. Below that the bike feels so sluggish. This bike really grumbles at low rpmsOriginally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostI generally don't engage 6th below 110. Agree that around 80 on 6th will give you maximum mileage, but, who wants maximum mileage on a performance bike? For mileage I would just use my old bike.
As you do a couple thousand more km, you will be able to engage the 6th at 55-60, but seriously, where is the Dukeism in that? It loves to revv so I revv it all the way to redline now (except 6th).

I think the coolant level should be closer to minimum level than max as the coolant expands, a lot. Check the level once the engine has cooled down, if it is above max or near that level, then probably the excess will flow out some more.
Fuel indicator is a bit unreliable especially on a long run. It only shows correctly if you slow down for considerable amount of time or switch off the engine and then on again.
220 for 8 is a lot better than mine. Mine gives around 180 for 8 litres in city. So, I guess you can rest assured on that front. By the way don't worry about mileage on this bike unless it drops near about 10kmpl. Just enjoy the ride.
. Though I've been scared to actually calculate the mileage (even mentally).

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I got the bike's first servicing done, 2 days ago. All is fine, except the fact that now my bike revv limits at just 9500 rpm. I revved the bike at neutral too. Engine didn't revv beyond 9500rpm. Is it just my bike or everyone's case is the same?

Was anyone going from ITO TO C.P. today on his duke390..? It had awesome hand guards too.
The bike was Orange white, perfectly clean and I was like hypnotized for a moment.

It does brush against the tire-hugger guard. I removed my tyre hugger to solve this.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostThank You gentlemen for the education. I really didn't know that. I was planning to remove it because its quite flimsy and I suspect it rubs against the rod that runs around the tyre hugger.
Its much easier to remove and also does not serve any purpose except for holding the artistic saree guard.

In my case the tire hugger helped in depositing those mucks right on my pillion seat. After removing, its throwing the muck everywhere, but, my pillion seat.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostI thought the tyre hugger rakes up muck especially in the raining season, no?

Are you saying that the shift indicator lights up at 9500 or that the revv limiter cuts in? If its the latter then definitely some issue with your bike. You will have to take it back to svc.Originally posted by tusharsmoily View PostI got the bike's first servicing done, 2 days ago. Are you serious?Originally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostIn my case the tire hugger helped in depositing those mucks right on my pillion seat. After removing, its throwing the muck everywhere, but, my pillion seat.
It sprays on pillion seat is it?
And one more thing, my idle rpm doesnt change after the bike heats up, it still stays at 1.8-2k rpm . I am not sure if they have made it purposely till first service, have to check with them. Anyone else had the same behaviour?
