  • Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences

There's a Duke 390 standing in front of Kamala Towers (Shree Devi hostel, Mangalore) right now. The guy (probably an uncle) is wearing light blue checks shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and he has a black helmet with a yellow color cartoonish dragonfly design on it. The registration is not done yet. Just 'KTM 390' written on rear number place with a red permanent marker. He seems to be waiting for someone. Anyone from here?

Edit - He rode off..probably because he thought that I was stalking him! The bike sounds more bassy and amplified than the Duke 200. He rolled off on first gear and immediately shifted to second gear and was pottering around in the same. Seems like Duke 390 can be ridden in city without any discomfort

I paid the full amount yesterday. The bike should come by next Friday.

I am thinking of changing the white tank and head lamp plates for the one from Black Duke 200.
Is it possible? Are they exact fit?

@abhifusion you have fork and the swingarm sliders right?

Guys. Duke 390 actually does power wheelie with a pillion. One of my friend (@joelkraju) on xbhp did it. On first gear, when the bike reaches power band, the front wheel automatically comes up by less than a feet and stays there for 4-5 metres! Isn't that wicked? However the pillion has to be very careful and he has to keep his hands on the tank for obvious reasons

I was thinking of buying tank bag for myktm 390....have you guys used one or recommend one that is not too expensive.
I happen to stumble upon this site, they seems to make only bag like tank, tail and saddle specially designed for ktm, have any one of you used it ??

                  • Coolant leakage

Today when I was cleaning my bike, I noticed a reservoir of coolant collected on the belly of the engine as seen in the attached pictures. There seems to be a leak either in the engine casing or the coolant pipe. The coolant level now is slightly above MIN. Tomorrow I will visit Seawoods KTM SVC to get this issue rectified. Hope I can ride safely till there and its not a major work

Ideally crash guards, footpegs will come in contact with the ground in case of fall; but there are many cases where Fork Sliders have saved the forks. And since keeping in mind just the fork oil seal replacement cost around 3k, any damage to the fork will cost a bomb...So it's better to be safe than sorry ....

Tushar, why didnt you go over and say hi to him?

Wait a minute! Blue jeans, cat boots and a sparx hornet lid on the tank while the owner was waiting for someone? That sounds lust like me. Oh wait! It was!!! Not sure how a 26yr old looks like an uncle to you though- unless you are around 8-10yrs old yourself!

Was waiting for a fiend to meet me there. Im sure you noticed a XUV stop behind me as i was putting on my helmet.

Unfortunately i didnt see anyone stalking me. I did see a emaciated kid in a white(?) tee hovering around but refusing to make any eye contact with me. Dont believe that was you!

To back your comment, yes, you can putter around in the city in 2nd but only above above 20kph. Anything less than that and you can feel the motor being lugged.

And thank you for bringing the numberplate thing to my notice. Looks like the 'REGISTERED' sticker came off.

                            Cheers!

Oops sorry! I didn't realise that you are 26 years old I thought that you must be 30 years or more (I'm 22 )

I was the guy wearing green and yellow t-shirt and a blue jeans and with a phone in my hand. I was standing right in front of you. Actually I had come to buy some smokes for my friend but when I saw your Duke 390, I had to stop there and have a look at your bike . Well, I am an introvert kind of guy and I hardly approach people by myself. I feel very awkward. Anyways, nice ride man. Your helmet is also very nice!
