Not thinking of painting the alloys as of now. I hope the attention dies down after few more 390s are delivered and it starts becoming common on road.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Something strange happened. Took out my bike for washing, the guy did a good job. While coming back i noticed the engine was sputtering and felt as if it was breathless, then i noticed the fuel gauge was showing half full but in between 2 lines were missing. Came back home restarted the bike, still the gauge is same. Opened the tank and there was enough fuel, but inside, the side part of the gauge was wet. Now i'm wondering if water has gone inside the gauge. Didnt have time to check since i had to go back to work. Any ideas??

The next time you head to Nandi Hills, if you are doing solo then its a corner paradise for hardcore bikersOriginally posted by NitinGirish View PostDid a trip to Nandi Hills today with wife. Apart from being stopped by cops four times everything else went fine. Engine breaking is a real dampener. The riding position is good, ride quality is good, vibes are tolerable in higher gears but engine breaking-I HATE IT! It tired me out and I don't fancy riding long distances on this. Will stick to my car. I stuck to 3.5-6k rpm band for most of the ride. I didn't make too much of the 5000RPM shift indicator as the limit during running in is 7500RPM. I didn't come anywhere close to that as I was mostly cruising (or trying to) at 80-90kmph. I did touch 111kmph briefly in 6th gear. Seems to be a fuel guzzler. I did a tank full before the start of the trip and now there are only three bars left. My wife didn't find the pillion seat uncomfortable though she did say the seat is hard. You need to be active on this bike, accelerating, braking, changing gears, accelerating again. Not meant for people who want to slot in one gear build some decent speed and leave it at that. Demands too much attention! Hating the attention the bike is getting on the roads. Won't blame the people, bike does look like a whacko. Posting couple of pics, excuse the quality as it is taken from my mobile.
. Way she takes on every single corner is something very commendable
. Last time I went, I deliberately restrained from scrubbing my knee guards coz din want to scrap them after very first use

I had this issue for the past couple of days. The second bar was missing. But today when I filled full tank the bar appeared.Originally posted by THE46FAN View Postthe fuel gauge was showing half full but in between 2 lines were missing. In Bangalore. Got this done at "Auto Service" Bansankari. Ofcourse, he outsourced it to someone else, but i wasn't willing to leave my metzelers lying around without rims in any random paint/workshop.

Hi Guys
Got my Duke 390 today ...
Got few questions here folks ... Hope someone could help me ....
1) I saw engine heat bar in the console go all the way upto second last in the bar ( Should I worry about it ? or is it normal ? )
2) While decelerating I hear some noise in the front console ( Any solutions for this ? )

Aha nice job done. Lets hope it lasts. I suppose they do not just paint and do some sand blasting first to let the colour hold on?Originally posted by hav0c View PostIn Bangalore. On the side note I shifted from Bangalore to Hyderabad now and here it seems there are very less options in general.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Congrats buddy. Its normal in city traffic for temperature to go upto 3rd last bar, but, last two bars mean the engine coolant is overheating. Check if the coolant level is above minimum and that radiator fan turns on during traffic. As for the noise, you will have to visit the svc.Originally posted by srivaatsav View PostHi Guys

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
It was like that on the day of delivery itself if I remember correctly. I took delivery few days late so it was parked for 3 days in showroom before I took delivery. The issue disappeared on its own after I tanked up yesterday. OT: Why doesn't the 'enter' button work while replying to posts? I am unable to format into paragraphs:-(Originally posted by THE46FAN View PostThanks man...planning to go for a ride tomorrow..lets see what happens...by the way.. i was just thinking...by any chance did you not start your bike for couple of days before this problem appeared?A lone amateur built the ark. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Went for my first ride with my fellow xBhp brothers to Kolar CCD and my second short spin on my beast as on today
. Its an absolute bliss of tarmac for any biker. Only issue is there are quiet a few median gaps and believe you me, you can expect the unexpected if you are not concentrating. Be it the careless truckers, fearless dogs and much more. The bike instils confidence in you and lets you push harder without much fuss
. I was able to do 176 Kmph on a slight downhill
. But anything above 150+ is much of a struggle than pleasure thanks to its naked looks. I now believe I am in love all over again :*...

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
smell of petrol from the tank cap..is bajaj still behind in this department..my fz did not have this complaint when I parked it after a ride.I mean after riding and leaving the Duke parked we can smell petrol(more on the vague side, but it was my non biker mom that picked up the smell!).smell is obvious if we go near the cap.something tells me this is a know issue and will not be rectified by bajaj
