Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
is the missing coolant issue common? I just had coolant filled yesterday and now its gone.my brother was riding it and the engine stopped like 4 times showing the overheat warning.waiting did not help in the middle of the road .eventually he had to put in cooled water to get the bike running..just where is the coolant going? is it evaporating or something?! Or is it gonna be like this till first service.and there is a bar missing in fuel display, the third one.or is it like that??๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

Must be leaking somewhere definitely... Coolant levels remain same for hundreds of Kms..Originally posted by senotrius View Postis the missing coolant issue common? and deepak I could not spot any leaks. but have asked bro to take it to asc tomorrow to fill coolant again and check for the issue.man, sooo did not want my bro to get stranded by my bike.earlier there was a loose wires=no horn which I got fixed. the quality check is just not up to standards.pathetic.no wonder the Austrians get it checked by themselves in Europe!๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

1. No the coolant should always be above the minimum level in the reservoir (closer to minimum than maximum as the coolant expands when heated). If the level is decreasing rapidly there is a leak and you need to get it fixed pronto. I have done over a 1000 kms and my coolant level has not dropped a cm. Also check whether the radiator is functioning correctly. Get it shown at the SVC immediately as the water will already have evaporated by now (the coolant temp goes above 114 C when overheated).Originally posted by senotrius View Postis the missing coolant issue common? 2. The third is not missing, it just shows a break between reserve and normal tank fills. The first two bars in fuel meter shows reserve, after the gap, it shows the normal fuel level.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
sorry to bring this up again as it been discussed lots of time. it been over a month & yet to get my bike. but this high compression ratio and octane are giving me bekkar ka tension. since i live in bhubaneswar we dont have option more than speed91 neither do we have shell. have gone through so many threads about the octane thing in last month or so. The manual does say about roz95/ron95/pon91. so normal fuel is fine i guess, as its comes as 91 grade. dont want to go with speed 91 as its have additives which are not octane booster. more over sunil ji has also mention that he has ride the bike in normal fuel without any problem. few of the guys say that engine will degrade fast as we dont have 95 garde fuel. how is your bike performing till date. though u have cover only small km. any idea about other biker facing any issue for this fuel.Originally posted by roy_arnab22 View PostNormal HP, BP, Shell. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Although the compression ratio is higher Bajaj already tested with normal fuel and they haven't found any problems so far. Only make sure that you're not using adulterated fuel which in some cases unavoidable while you go for long tour. I've used normal fuel in my Hyosung without any problems. Normal unadulterated fuel should be fine with 390. Having said that if premium higher octane fuel obviously will give a better throttle response and mileage. I think you should stop thinking and start shopping
Happy ownership ahead!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
You can go with normal fuel, no issues, and the benefits of additives added in fuels are still debated. Although fuel companies claim that there are long term benefits, this has never been proven.Originally posted by coolmaverickguy View Postsorry to bring this up again as it been discussed lots of time. it been over a month & yet to get my bike. but this high compression ratio and octane are giving me bekkar ka tension. since i live in bhubaneswar we dont have option more than speed91 neither do we have shell. have gone through so many threads about the octane thing in last month or so. Any particular reason to avoid IOC???. I have been using it for both my rides(FZ-16 and D390) ever since I bought
. No issues till date. I live in Bangalore.
Bhp is how fast you hit a wall, Torque is how much of that wall you can take with you.

Hmm right ...well i say it's not normal cause i was comparing it with my bullet ! 390 is way lighter as you know !...besides that i did a side by side check with my friends d200.not much a weight difference but i can move the 200 around with no effort at all while the 390 needs some force to get going.anyway will check it out soon.Originally posted by senotrius View Postwell, same here too man.The service in-charge guy Mr.Samson said its normal.will be going again to asc again to buy a pulsar 220 tank pad.90 bucks.fine by me rather than buying inr1500+ ones.i have the same feeling when it comes to buying them costly keiti rim tapes.rather get it done at the local sticker shop!but the orange wheel of the 390 as such is a huge sticker job i guess;loud.
n regarding the tank pads ...yeah the keiti ones are expensive so gonna try one from ebay UK :P around INR 200 with free shipping.good seller too.check it out !
I don't think the 390 needs a rim tape !that orange is pretty loud ! Ktm in white on the wheels looks good though.neat.
btw did you get it registered ?...i just did it today...gave it to an auto consultancy ...no hassle.i just had to get the engine and chassis no. verified by RTO and return the papers to the consultancy.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
woah that IS a problem .get it checked immediately. At the time of delivery they told me to get to the Scv asap if the final 2 bars come up...i.e. if the final bars of the temp start appearing.Originally posted by senotrius View Postis the missing coolant issue common?
