      Saw the bikes which came in for the 2nd lot for the Chennai Adyar showroom (36 bike for 2nd lot they said when I inquired). KTM/Bajaj has provided with some small drills in the backside of the front wheel guard to put an additional smaller guard to protect the Radiator from the dirt thrown by the front wheel. Finally going to get my 390 this week, if the RTO is a workaholic who will take his chair even in the Festive season.
      Falling in love with the "lil beast" over and over again. Sorry Baby :D

        Does the display on the Duke provide info of the mileage the bike is giving? I tried all the settings but couldnt find it.

          Yes it does provide an estimated real time mileage, After starting the bike, press the SET button twice.

            A quick update from my side.
            440km done on the odo. Did a breakfast ride today - 190 kilometers. Had got the oil (and oil filter) changed at 220km. I am not strictly following the manufacturers guidelines. Generally doing roll ons between 3k to 7.5k rpm.
            A strange issue happened. I was low on fuel and the DTE showed around 42km. Then, I stopped at an intersection and the DTE was 0!
            Rode like this for another 25 km (no pumps on the way) with the DTE at 0. Filled up and the DTE was working again.
            By the way, at 6th gear around 84 km/hr the bike was returning 35kmpl


            Also got challaned by the over active early morning riser cops at Sonepat for overspeeding. (Highway speed limit for our lowly two wheelers is 50kmph)
            Is my 390 the first to be on the wrong side of the law

                    Finally got the bike today. And what more should i say !! Its brilliant. Now i gotta ride more and more. Will update in a few days time as i will cover more distance and will get to know the bike more

                      This probably might help the new owners.

                      1. Keep the starter button pressed until you hear engine has come to life completely. Do release the button even if the engine starts puttering.
                      2. During the first start of the day, idle the bike for at least 2 minutes.
                      3. There are no cold or warm start issues on this bike. Dont give the throttle while starting the bike. Only thing happening should be the starter button pressed.
                      4. Never ever pressure spray the engine area. There are loads of sensors in the bike.You dont want to disturb them.
                      5. Incase if there is any malfunction after the wash, keep the bike under sun for atleast 30mins and try your luck.
                      6. Bike wont move ahead unless the stand is disengaged.
                      7. Though the limit is 7500rpm, suggest you to keep it under 5500rpm during first 150kms.
                      8. If yu wish, change the oil at 150-200 kms to remove what ever the metal debris.
                      9. Change the oil filter when ever you change the oil.
                      10. Do not turn of the ABS unless you are sure. The rear brake locks very easily.
                      11. Clean and lube the chain after every 500kms. If you ride in more dirty/dusty roads do it every 300kms.
                      12. Do not clean the chain with Diesel as this will damage the O-seals.
                      13. You can use 90w gear oil to lube the chain.
                      14. Never clean your bike when dry. Always clean with water first. Duke gets scratched easily.
                      15. Suggestion: Remove the tire hugger and saree guard if your pillion usually sits two sides. Bike is lot less dirties without them.
                      16. Bike will do with any kind of fuel without any problem. If you want to feel little smoothness, then go for shell super.
                      17. When the 10th bar is lit on the heat gauge and you are doing the speeds below 10kmph, the radiator fan blows the air towards the front of the bike.

                      These are few as I can put as of now. I will update when ever I remember of some thing. Please correct me if something is wrong up there.


                      Nice mileage figure I got today on Sunday night roads of Hyderabad. Dont be surprised if it gives 40kmpl on open highways

                        Finally got my bike today. Want to thank all you guys for keeping up the post updated and helping me have the required patience. 36 bikes have come to Delhi in their 2nd lot. I counted around 20 in Bagga Link itself. The bike is absolutely amazing. The roar of the bike is beautiful to the ears. Even the hand-guard's quality has improved from the test bike. The bike was more comfortable to me than D200, with softer suspensions. The bike easily ran over small potholes without me feeling anything at all. All the guys who are waiting for their bikes, please dont loose patience. This bike will make you fall in love with biking again and again. Will update with more miles on the baby beast.

                          DTEs are quite deceptive in most vehicles, so keep a rough mental estimation as well.

                            Congratz..ride safe... I got my bike too last week Thrusday evening, and only rode that day abt some 40 KMs, post that I had to travell out of station hence no bike. The KTM guy told either to remove the 30 AMP fuse or put plastic or rubber under the stand to stop the battery from draining if am not riding the bike for a couple of day.

                            On the delivery day when I was in traffic for the initial 25 KMs the bike really did get hot and me with my wife as pillion were really getting our legs cooked, cldnt figure which way the fan was blowing the hot air.
                            I found it very difficult to ride the bike slow below 4 K RPM it kept juttering, have to get used to the bike i feel.
                            Showed 24 KM/L mileage. In the second stint when I got to use the 6th Gear on the ring road bike mileage improved to 34KM/L.

                                lucky people.cant even book on vijaydashmias showroom closed.have no idea about any deliveries made here in cohin.
