mind elaborating on how it happened?
(am assuming the rim gave away and you crashed?)-i haven't seen rim's break just like that, it probably something like low tire pressure(due to a puncture/leak), hitting bumps at speed (especially with low tire pressure). could be 'quality' too, if that rant makes you feel better
    Pressure was perfect.
I fall on a smooth stretch of concrete road. But the full road stretch is not good. Even the 400km trip was done in SH.

Poor quality is all I could think off. Duke has a good track record of broken alloy wheels. I haven't seen even an 100cc bikes alloy wheel broke just like that.

I was riding to ATM nearby. Since my butt is sore from the trips totalling 1500km that week and roads aren't that smooth I stood up and rode. Suddenly steering started wobbling at high frequency and then low frequency and I fall.

There wasn't any bump too. Bad time.

I was in fourth gear since after crash I noted gear on bike as 4. Speed must be 60-70 I guess but the road made me feel like 100. I Rolled for 100meters I guess my good time I rolled instead of sliding and also as it felt like raining I had my rain jerkins on. Or else there won't be any skin in left hand

Good you are safe. Did you tried to contact KTM service centre. If this happened due to quality of rim, you should really take up the case.

              I know about them.
Steering wobbled because of tyre. But I think stabiliser would be better.

Any idea where I could get one for duke I think it will be useful for me since I your a lot in state highways. Thanks.

Contacted them. They said at certain force they will break [emoji85] they were like am responsible. It have up on flat stretch of road. I don't know how to sue them and No time to go behind them. Too much money and time will be wasted but we get nothing.

When did you purchase your Duke, i.e. Which year model is it?

always inspect your rims from time to time, a small unnoticed crack would eventually result in bigger damage.
i've seen two cases (A 390 and a 200) where the bike was still rideable with a slight crack on the rim (which was caused due to hitting a pothole at 90kmph and the other due to decent speeds in crater infested roads in heavy rains).
as you said, very unlikely to get it replaced under warranty unless you can 'prove' it gave away under normal use. Too many variables involved.
I say this because I've hit enough potholes and speed bumps at various speeds (right from 20kmph to 90kmph) and the wheels have held up well so far.I always ensure the tire pressure is right.

I think that's it. I recalled now. I had puncture on my front tyre and back but very minor one but air loss in front tyre was more than back tyre which has a bigger puncture and many pin hole sized punctures I think it's because of this crack and it happened 2000km before the crash.

In my case it's not stator coil or battery or speedo cable. As all of them replaced. I even replaced the speedo unit. The instrument cluster. Even the wiring kit.

Like I said in the offline group, I suspect your alloys had already been damaged before and you didn't notice it. It would have given away this time when you crashed. I have read several stories of broken alloys but it has never happened to some owners. Even my own bike had hit quite a few potholes at speeds like 90-100, but I haven't had any broken alloys. Once a car ran over my bike and the front alloys were bent, though not much damaged. But I replaced them since I didn't want to take any chances. Best way to avoid this is to watch out for potholes on the roads and try to avoid them as much as possible, if at all it is inevitable you are going to hit one, atleast try to reduce the speed to minimize damage to your alloys. If you are not able to slow down enough, then you simply were going too fast on a bad road. And if you hit any large potholes at high speeds, pull over and check if you had damaged your alloys.

So after 3 months of ownership and daily commuting with the duke, I have decided to give it a rest and use it only for touring.
                            The reason
1: I was never able to use the bike to it's potential in the Delhi-Noida traffic. Using 4th gear is a dream and there are only 1-2 spots where I could do it safely
2: Bike is giving low mileage, starting from 23 km/l to recent 19 km/l. I guess due to regular jams on the route. On highway, it returned around 25km/l and should do fine even now I guess

I would have really loved to use duke for daily commutes, but this petrol-sucking traffic nightmare in India won't allow me to.
Also, I wonder if the always on headlamp can be a culprit for lower mileage ?? Anyone having 2016 duke facing lower mileages.
Has anybody tried to implement a switch for turning off the main light and only keep the parking light as DRL ?
I have pretty much done the same, taking it out for commuting only once in a while when there is not much traffic. It simply gets too hot to ride in stop and go traffic and the hard clutch fatigues my hand due to a wrist injury I had before(although I am doing a workaround to make it lighter). As for the headlamps, DRLs will not drop the mileage much. I always run with my lights on though mine is a 2014 model. It doesn't affect your fuel efficiency in any significant way.
