I checked in Bangalore, as far as I know, the BTM layout, Langford, and Bannerghatta road SVCs, neither of them have the part after which I gave up. I tried a slipper clutch equipped bike recently, and absolutely loved the clutch on that, its super smooth and very soft, a whooping 70% improvement over stock clutch I'd say.Part for it aren't available for a month though, so am still debating on whether it warrants a 8k spending.

In case you find any ASC which has the part, please do update me, I would really appreciate it

          Hello All,

I noticed frim last month that the coolant level in my bike getting low in less than 2 weeks of time, it's a one year old bike. earlier I used to ride only in highways now recently I started using them for my day to day commute as well. And yes it's the Bangalore traffic . I see the the coolant level issue after using them in the city.
so is it that in city due to engine getting hot very soon the coolant level is going down ? I saw a similar post earlier, However it was related to leak issue I think. I can't find any leak as of now. Any thoughts guys. Thanks in Advance.

          Thanks

Its available at one of the ascs here(West Mambalam Jai Bajaj). Another asc(Adyar KTM) is about to get it in 2 days. I will be getting it fixed by tomorrow. Let's see if its worth it.

if it isn't an external leak(you have to look really closely) then it probably a head gasket leak, and coolant is mixing with engine oil.
get it checked at the svc asap. let them drain the oil and check the quantity(would be more due to coolant mixing) and quality (would be greyish white if coolant has mixed with oil)
under normal operating situations (including b2b traffic) you shouldn't be seeing much of a variation in the coolant levels.

Thank you so much .. I will get it checked. I am going off town for 10 days. once I am back i will get them checked from the service center. I will also see if the coolant level going down in these 10 days am off the bike.

                Thanks

Hi Ezilkannan , I have installed this part on my 2013 Duke. The lever pull action has become at least 30% softer/easier. Mind you, your left hand will still ache in stop and go traffic but it will take longer for the aching to start.

I had fitted the part in April-2016, after getting the part number from RC390 thread : JY541251 . It was available at the time at ,the Noida ASC.

I'd inquired about installing the slipper clutch for my late2013 Duke. The cost was set at 12K. Compared to my bike, the ones with slipper clutch was smooth like butter. I dont think fatigue would even be a problem with the slipper clutch model even in B2B traffic. Is 12K the standard pricing? has anyone done it yet?

I'm thinking of replacing the stock headlight bulbs with a Cyclops H4 LED. Has anyone changed to LEDs? I read on other forums that the 690 Dukes detect the Headlights as 'blown' due to the lower power consumption. Anyone has any ideas around this?

I guess after changing the mentioned part, the clutch, both standard and the slipper should feel the same in terms of hardness. I dont see why slipper clutches would have a lighter spring.

Slipper clutches can be designed so that the ramps used increase the pressure on acceleration. This enables the use of lighter spring which reduces the required pulling force on the levers.

They are cheaper than gear shift lever.

                            Less than 800. Forgot.

Did an 400km long trip from chennai to work in AP with full riding gears and then went to nearby ATM with just helmet and an thick rain jerkin because I thought it will be silly in the place which is too rural.

Ten KTM/Bajaj quality rewarded me with 1 week of bedrest. And new knee guards

Sh** happens. Glad you are safe.
mind elaborating on how it happened?
(am assuming the rim gave away and you crashed?)-i haven't seen rim's break just like that, it probably something like low tire pressure(due to a puncture/leak), hitting bumps at speed (especially with low tire pressure). could be 'quality' too, if that rant makes you feel better
