Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes exactly my point, it is not been provided where it is supposed to be! Just under the swing arm where it is the thickest. Will do it in house and have to keep changing as and when it gets worn out. I don't see any other solution to this.Originally posted by Venkatesh Velmani View PostYoung riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

The same damn noise has resurfaced again. It starts from 3k now at the console area. It had gone post first service, so now I'll have to take it back again!Originally posted by Venkatesh Velmani View PostLooks like quite a few have this problem.. hope someone gets a fix soon.. it's quite irritating to hear that noise..

How do you oil that cog/sprocket? Guess that could be the issue since it resurfaced around 400 kms after the first service.Originally posted by archan View PostHey Guys, logged back after a very long time, got myself the 390 about a month ago, was one of the first few in delhi to get the bike on orange day on the 28th or 27th, whichever date it was. My two cents about the vibe problems people have been having, I had that issue as well, went to to the service center and they fixed the problem, but only temporarily. The vibes and sond that comes at 3-4k RPM is apparently due the the cog/sprocket at the crank not being lubricated, so when its dry it makes that sound, oil it and its gone. Like i said temporarily, after a few days its back becuase its dried up again.
Another problem ive been having, which is where i need your alls help, is that when im riding, and when i suddenly let go of the accelerator and pull the clutch at the same time, the engine just shuts off. This has started happening after the first service, and has been happening atleast once a day. Asked the service centre guys, and they have no clue, and will find out for me. Ill check the fuses when i get home today, but has anyone else had this problem, and if so, have they found a fix for it, or atleast why it happens.
your help would be awesomely appreciated.
As far as second issue is concerned, does your bike idle properly without shutting off? I used to face similar issues earlier, but they corrected the idling settings and I've not faced engine shutdown issues (while in motion or idling) post that. Fuel quality had nothing to do with it.Last edited by anilp; 11-12-2013, 11:18 PM.Ride more, browse less.

i didnt oil it, when i went for my first service the service center guys did, but the sound started again after about 2 days.Originally posted by anilp View PostHow do you oil that cog/sprocket? Guess that could be the issue since it resurfaced around 400 kms after the first service.

as for you other question, yes the bike idles properly, doesnt ever stall when idling, this problem only happens when i suddenly let go of the accelerator and pull the clutch at the same time when driving in 3rd to 4th gear

Ok, so let me try lubing the chain once before I take it to the SVC.Originally posted by archan View Posti didnt oil it, when i went for my first service the service center guys did, but the sound started again after about 2 days.

Is the clutch completely pulled in when do the shift? Also, is the engine lugging when you do this?Ride more, browse less.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
yea clutch is pulled completely, and no engine lugging at all, it basically happens when im accelerating, and then i want to slow down suddenly because of upcoming turn or something. its not because im going at low speed in higher gears, it happens when i suddenly let go of the throttle and pull the clutch to slow down.Originally posted by anilp View PostOk, so let me try lubing the chain once before I take it to the SVC.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Got my bike on 12th, updated on fb, started riding and it turned out to be a lemon. Returned it, waiting for a new bike that'll be delivered on 25th.
Between all this there is a huge story of struggle. I would share it once I have time.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Checked the swing-arm this morning. The plastic chain slider (not sure if thats the correct term), is present on the top as well as bottom side of the swing arm, couple of inches in length. Could not find any specific mark where the chain seems to be hitting. The usual wear from the chain's contact with slider is visible, on chain and slider both. Hope someone manages to crack a solution for this mysterious sound. Now i am not even sure if the sound is from the chain slap, or from elsewhere.Seems chain hitting issue is quite normal, I thought I'm the only one :P ...
