Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
As long as you are using the one designed for your friend's GT it should not be much of a problem because the after-market ones are having even small holes ( see evotech performance - small hexagonal holes) - Also do make it a lil bit wider so that it can cover the plastic part at the ends of the radiator.Originally posted by abhifusion View PostThat's what I'm concerned about too... will test it for few days before quoting anything to you guys...
My p200/220's radiator was hit by a stone right around the border where the guard ends & had to replace the oil cooler as M-seal/araldite/ patch welding didnt work.

Pretty cool man, awesome.. Don't worry about the airflow of radiator, it won't get affected. If you are planning for your 390, can you make one me too( if you can).Originally posted by abhifusion View PostMade Radiator guard for friends GT 650N ... Will be making one for my D390 soon

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well, here in Chennai.. there are only 2 Ktm Showrooms so far... The Big one is Ktm-Adyar, been here since the launch of the duke 200 and has a clean record of deliveries!!Originally posted by JN8304 View Postdoes this dealer have another showroom in the city (Bangalore has Khivraj Motors that runs 3 KTM showrooms in different localities, then there is Popular Automobiles these guys run the KTM showroom in two different localities in the city), if so, may be you should drop by the other showroom and find out how the PDI and delivery is done. I am sure it will be of some running around in city but it should give you an idea of the PDI and delivery being practiced at two different showroom run by same people.
If i were in your shoes, i would have rejected taking delivery of the bike and would have demanded an immediate refund.
Is there a chance of these bikes been run on a dyno for run in process, i don't know if they have one or if there is one in your city but trying to be optimistic.
All the best!!
and this new one, Mogappair Ktm which is run together by Kln Bajaj & was opened only 2 weeks after the launch of the 390..!! Kln Bajaj Dealership has a great name over here since it is in the main area and also due to its service quality!!! And so people expect as much to its reputation... I seriously didn't expect this situation here!!! :\ lets see what reply Ktm gives him!!

No need to freak out.Originally posted by Venkatesh Velmani View PostI gotta gut feeling that nothings gonna happen and I just hope that the guys who did the PDI check drove my bike sanely.. I'm happy as long as theres no problem with the bike.. I saw few other vehicles which were delivered in the first lot and all the vehicles has run so much.. I dunno if anyone complained or did anything about it :/.. haven't heard anything back from KTM yet.. Will update as soon as I hear something..

As you said, as long as the bike is running fine you need not worry. May there is something this dealer is doing during PDI where other dealers are not doing. :P

I also do not think that the Mogappair guys are technically sound! They did not even know about the geart shift warning indicator and they told me the bike's ECU is locked to 8000 RPM for India (had to prove him wrong by wringing the trottle!Originally posted by Arvind Sibi View PostWell, here in Chennai.. there are only 2 Ktm Showrooms so far... ). They are friendly though. Guess they will take some time to know about this stuff as they are new to business.
Haven't heard anything from KTM (as expected). I doubt if anything will be done now as I've completed around 400Kms
(bike's not even registered yet!).
As expected from KTM, the bike's a BOMB! It can cruize comfortably at speeds of 130Kmph. No strain in engine, what so ever! Wind blast is a pain though. If the wind blows in the same direction you are driving, you can comfortable hold 130Kmph. If it blows in the opposite direction, you can comfortably do 100Kmph. Speedo shows a mileage of 26-30Kmpl in city (Chennai) and it shows around 33-36Kmpl in the highways.

Yeah, I've made my peace now. Bike's running super smooth. The engine temperature is always down by 4 bars and the bike also starts with a single click every time (even when it stalls in traffic).Originally posted by riazmomin View PostNo need to freak out.

Lol, what the dealer tells me is they make sure that the bike is running perfectly and the radiator fan works as advertised by riding and checking it throughly.Honda Dio (Sold) | Yamaha FZ16 (Sold) | Duke 390 | Kawasaki Z800 (Technically it's my brother's, but WTH ;P) |
1. Start the engine; 2. Turn the trottle; 3. Disappear ;)

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys, so here goes,
Going to book the 390 for my brother, will be booking it at Cochin PBK. And soon there are going to be 2 new KTM showrooms at Trichur and Perinthalmanna too. Looks like they are expanding fast.
BTW, my brother is working at Bangalore, had some problems with booking in bangalore, so getting it done from cochin instead.
Cheers

I called up the Pune showrooms but they have no idea of black color.Originally posted by JN8304 View PostIndia website has the white/black combo now. off the shelf availability and now with the new colour being introduced should a price hike be expected in the near future?
