Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
It takes 5 minutes to change the part. It's a direct swap. I bought the part for Rs.104 and went to a different ASC because it was lunch break for the mechanics and I couldn't wait. I tipped the guy at my usual ASC 50 bucks to fit the part. Nothing needs to be opened. Just the part which looks almost similar to the mentioned one is literally pulled out with some force and the new one is pushed in after the spring from the wire is put on it. That's it.Originally posted by NitinGirish View Post

Before ISG2G I will do the service 👍Originally posted by Ezilkannan View Post
Shouldn't be much of a problem, just make sure your engine oil, and coolant levels are not too low before the ISG2G ride. Would advise to carry them just in case.

To be frank, I didn't find much difference than original Osram that comes with D390. I ran led's, Osram NB and Phillips XV. All of these are just slightly better than the Osram Bilux that come stock with D390. Not worth the upgrade.Live to Ride!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
So, after long deliberation, i went to the SVC today morning for the service that was long overdue. Here's a summary of what happened. As i had mentioned before, the bike was acting weird. So i told the guy who came for inspection that the bike was stalling. And that they needed to change the crash guard. In the evening they call me. Says the following. The clutch is burnt and the oil has mixed with something else and they need to change the seals. Also, replace the battery and the chain. total expense around 14K.
This bike is turning out to be waay expensive. i've done just under 15K kms. ALready have spent a bomb on upkeep. They only positive is, i have a bike that rides beautifully.
Pls let me know if these kind of upkeep expenses are for everyone or just me?

Clutch getting burnt that fast is a mystery unless you slip it a LOT. Regarding oil being mixed, it could be with coolant which I think is a head gasket leak. Around 15K is pretty okay for a chain/sprocket replacement.

Even they are asking me to change the chain and sprocket my duke is around 15K too.
I was getting weird noises like Kat Kat even after lubing and all.
How much did they quote for whole sprocket and chain set including labour ?
Is the chain and sprocket same for 200 and 390 ?

Not for everyone i guess, but 5 out of 10 face some or other problems regularly.Originally posted by Serene George Thomas View PostSo, after long deliberation, i went to the SVC today morning for the service that was long overdue. If Chain is well cleaned and lubed at regular intervals. They can easily last for 30000 KMs. Mine lasted 32000 KMs.Originally posted by 200Duker1993 View PostI have a duke 200

On Other Note. The Auxiliary LED Projector lamps I installed on my 390 are doing pretty good job. I am not using Main headlamp at all.
Adjusted them to act as low beam and they are pretty bright but OK spread!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
15K is low on a DUke 200 if the chain has been maintained properly. If you haven't lubed/adjusted it every 500-1000km then it may need a change.Originally posted by 200Duker1993 View PostI have a duke 200

14k is way too much.Originally posted by Serene George Thomas View PostSo, after long deliberation, i went to the SVC today morning for the service that was long overdue. clutch plates cost around 1200 bucks iirc (friction and pressure plates) - their wear and tear depends on usage.
he probably meant oil is mixing with coolant. head gasket change. this shouldn't cost you more than Rs.500 (not sure how much a head gasket is, i'd be surprised if its more than 500rs).
Chain sprocket set is around Rs.3000 . Again, this will normally last much longer if normal care is taken to maintain the chain.
A new battery should probably cost you around Rs.2500.
So the total cost for the spares is around Rs.7000 ! And labor for all these shouldn't exceed Rs.2000 (which is a very high estimate). So all in all the total cost of repairs is around Rs.9000
You seem to be unlucky/the svc is taking you for a ride. As others have pointed out, with regular maintenance such expenses at 15k km are not common. Of-course there are folks who rip it right from when the engine is started and do all sorts of antics , neglect maintenance.. for these kind of folks there might be quicker wear of parts and more repair costs.

Yep, No headlamp usage. Intensity of LEDs is more than the Headlamp. Even though I switch it on. No difference.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostDanks You Rice Bhai

High beams i hardly use except while flashing.
