Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
BS-4 cars were available from as early as 2012 (or even before), and most of the cars on sale are bs4 (especially in metros). for cars, bs3 was allowed only in small towns/villages (and only a very few models were bs3 like the tavera). which is why there weren't any mouth watering deals for cars the past week.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostI don't think so. In fact, many BS-IV cars were already available for quite some time AFAIK. Maybe from 2015 or so..
But, yes Dukes at that time maybe were BS-3 only.
here is an old article i dug up:
Coming to motorcycles, In India most of the motorcycles were bs3 until recently and i think all the ktm's were also only bs3.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Again my rear tire got punctured this morning. This is the 3rd instance in 10k kms. Thinking of going for Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.
Initially, I was thinking of going for Michelin Pilot Street (mainly seeing it's 25k shelf life), but then heard that it drastically reduces the D390's performance in braking as well as overall stability. Ppl are simply not able to stop their bikes in the same distance as earlier and the bike feels wobbly afterwards.
However, I hv heard good reviews abt the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II's. So, thinking of going for them. Also, considering their 15-20k shelf life they seem pretty vfm to me. Would be glad to hear any experienced arguments whether to go for Pirelli v/s Michelin.

Hope you know the Rosso's are softer than Pilot Streets.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostAgain my rear tire got punctured this morning. This is the 3rd instance in 10k kms. Thinking of going for Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.

How is the braking performance? And overall stability of the bike. Is it comparable to the Metzeler's?Originally posted by niku View PostHope you know the Rosso's are softer than Pilot Streets.

I'm happy with it. I've never felt any discomfort due to the tyres. I can't compare it with Metzeler because I wasn't that lucky. I'm the 2nd owner of the bike and the rear Metz was literally at the end of its life when I bought it. I would have clocked only 1000kms with the Metz before swapping.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostHow is the braking performance? And overall stability of the bike. I've stocked a front Pilot Street and would save my front Metz for the Winter. 😊Pegasus - 2011* - Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

Go for michelin. I am using since last 2k kms and they are good on highways and gravel. On corners they are ok. Braking is fine.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostAgain my rear tire got punctured this morning. This is the 3rd instance in 10k kms. Thinking of going for Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.

Whereas pirelli is softer and hence more prone to punctures

Whereas pirelli is softer and hence more prone to puncturesThanks for your inputs. I'd have gone for Pirelli's but read that tire life is only 10-12k kms. That's a strict no-no for me. So, I'm now going with the Michelin's only.. [emoji4] [emoji4]Originally posted by niku View PostI'm happy with it. I've never felt any discomfort due to the tyres. Michelin would be a decent replacement based on my 25000 KM experience on it.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostAgain my rear tire got punctured this morning. This is the 3rd instance in 10k kms. Thinking of going for Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.

You cannot expect same level of grip on wet roads as Metz, in all other cases and scenarios its is comparable with Metz. Better on bad roads and little more comfortable for your back (thanks to increased side wall height).
My bike has done 45000 KMs and is running on 3rd tire on rear (Metz @ 14000, Michelin @ 40000, Old Metz @ 44500 replaced with Michelin).2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Installed Radiator guard... There were many small stones in the fins due to bigger gaps in the stock plastic guard. Used a toothpick to remove those.
